Moore Than Back-up

Looking for a RB in your league?  Need someone who is at the very least going to get his reps?  Believe it or not, Mewelde Moore of the Pittsburgh Steelers may be your guy…for now.  Relegated to a back-up roll behind Willie Parker, Rashard Mendenhall, and Carey Davis, Moore is now more than a back-up and for at least the next 2 weeks a viable option for the bye weeks.

Last night during the 3rd quarter of the Steelers Monday night win over the Baltimore Ravens, Mendenhall went down with a fractured shoulder and will now be placed on IR.  Davis came into the game only to suffer an ankle injury.  Moore, was part of the Pitt offense for most of quarter 4 and all of OT.  While he looked sluggish at times behind the line, he looked quick on his pass catching routes in open field.

With Mendenhall out for the year, Davis a question mark, and Willie Parker out for at least one more week, Moore is a guy that you can find on the waiver wires now that should be able to help your team if your in a serious bind.  While the Steelers will play the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, it should be noted that if you want him for one week only…you may want to pass on this one.

While this weekends game doesn’t bode well for the Pittsburgh running game, Mewelde Moore should become at the very least a RB who will split carries with Parker until Parker is completely 100 percent.
