Last week it was the QB’s who tossed 3 and 4 touchdowns. This week, the RB’s stepped up and 2 of them posted 4 touchdown games. Carolina’s DeAngelo Williams and Philadelphia’s Brian Westbrook. While most fantasy players started Williams, an ESPN fantasy report on Wednesday put Westbrooks’ chances at questionable. The report forced a lot of people to look elsewhere for their weekend RB needs leaving BW on the bench and their faces red with anger.
Westbrook scored 4 times in his Thanksgiving day match-up with the Arizona Cardinals, 2 on the ground and 2 in the air, as the Eagles tromped the high-flying birds and shut down their high-scoring offense. On the arm of Donovan McNabb and the legs of BW, the Eagles easily walked out of the stadium Thursday night victorious.
For Carolina, it was a back and forth second half that saw the Green Bay Packers come from behind to take a very late 4th quarter lead. On the legs of Williams, the team moved the ball 55 yards in under 25 seconds to set up Williams’ fourth TD of the night and seal the victory for the Panthers.
For Williams a 5th touchdown was almost in hand. Jake Delhomme scored on an outside bootleg that could have easily been handed off to Williams for his 5th. In any case, those who started Williams were very pleased.
Behind those two were a slew of two touchdown RB’s inclduing Thomas Jones from the Jets, both Titan RB’s, and Houston’s Steve Slaton. So what will week 14 bring? Could it be the 4 TD games for the WR’s? If it is, look for the QB to have the 4 TD’s as well.
Looking ahead quickly, some matches look great on paper for the first round of many playoff leagues.
Arizona will try and get back on track against the St. Louis Rams. Which means of course that Boldin, Fitzgerald, Warner, and RB Tim Hightower are all must plays.
Adrian Peterson will be running into Detroit so he makes for a great play as well. Up and down this weeks schedule, a player here or there has a good match-up. Later this week we will look at each game and who should be your featured player for each…and maybe, one of those guys scores the 4 TD game.
