Here is a detailed breakdown of Injuries heading into Sunday’s action:
Arizona-
Anquan Boldin, WR: The Cards will rest him and he most likely see playing time in Sunday’s match up against the Patriots. A blow for owners in the Championship game.
J.J. Arrington, RB: It seems that Tim Hightower will get most of the carries in this game, as Arrington will also be sitting because of a knee injury. Neither Boldin or Arrington have practiced all week.
Atlanta-
John Abraham, DE: Abraham has 15.5 sacks on the season, and is listed as questionable due to a death in the family. John Clayton of ESPN believes that Abraham will still play Sunday, so if your in a Defensive league, it will still be worth starting Abraham.
Baltimore-
Derrick Mason, WR: Mason is questionable for tonight’s game (8:15 ET). His dislocated shoulder has been bothering him, but he will play despite the pain. I wouldn’t suggest starting him against the tough Cowboy Secondary.
Ray Rice, RB: Rice is questionable as well because of a calf injury. It seems that the Ravens are moving more toward Le’Ron McClain to get most of the carries anyways. I would keep your hands out of the Rice bag for the rest of the season.
Buffalo-
Marshawn Lynch, RB: Lynch is listed as questionable against the Broncos because of missed practice time throughout the week. Though his shoulder has been bothering him, Head Coach Dick Jauron is confident he will see playing time on Sunday.
Trent Edwards, QB: After missing two straight weeks, the Bills quarterback will make the start against the Broncos. It will be interesting to see how he does against the 27th ranked pass defense.
Cincinnati-
Chad Johnson, WR: Ocho Cinco missed practice Friday, but he will start on Sunday. He has been pretty spotty lately though, so be careful starting him.
Carson Palmer, QB: A given. What a bust this fantasy season. I’m glad I didn’t draft him early like I planned to.
Cleveland-
Kellen Winslow, TE: As expected, Winslow will not play due to his ankle injury. Another rough injury for one of the highest talent/high ceiling players at the tight end position.
Dallas-
Marion Barber, RB: Barber has missed three consecutive practices due to his pinky toe. Much like last week, the ‘Boys training staff will test him out in pre game activities to determine the load he will take on tonight. Like Brian mentioned, take a look at Tenard Choice. Not a bad choice, If I wouldn’t say so my self (man I love puns).
Detroit-
Daunte Culpepper, QB: Oh, for some reason I thought this was important. Culpepper will be out for Sunday’s action against the saints, but don’t worry. I’m pretty sure if your in the championship, this won’t affect your lineup at all.
Minnesota-
Adrian Peterson, RB: Peterson is listed as probable with an ankle injury, but he will likely get a lot of playing time, considering the Vikings are only one game up, and Tavaris Jackson has been named the starting quarterback.
New Orleans-
Deuce McAllister, RB: The Deuce is loose! McAllister practiced fully on Friday and could be scary to Pierre Thomas owners who believe he is going to blow up yet again this weekend. I would still start Thomas. McAllister is still a bit out of shape, and won’t get many carries. McAllister is still listed as probable.
New York Giants-
Brandon Jacobs, RB: Jacobs is listed as questionable Sunday, but Coach Coughlin is pretty confident he will play. Jacobs practiced all week while fighting a knee injury.
Dominique Hixon, WR: Hixon has been listed as questionable all week as well, but he will play as well. Hixon has become a decent option late in the season. I don’t see a problem with going with him in the flex or 3 receiver slot.
Oakland-
Zach Miller, TE: Miller has practiced all week, and will play despite being listed as questionable throughout the week. He could match up well against the Texans.
Philadelphia-
Hank Baskett, WR: Baskett has been ruled out of action for week 16 because of a knee injury.
Kevin Curtis, WR: Curtis is doubtful with a calf injury. It doesn’t look good according to various reports. A good option to replace Curtis or Baskett this week could be WR Reggie Brown, who will be active this week.
Brian Westbrook, RB: Westbrook is yet again questionable this week, but should see a lot of playing time yet again this week. He missed practice Friday, perhaps to rest up his knee. The Eagles should continue to ride their horse into the playoffs, despite his wounds.
San Francisco-
Frank Gore, RB: It seems that Gore will have to miss Sunday’s game against the weak rush defense of the Rams. Gore’s ankle didn’t progress much during the week, and 49ers management and coaching staff will most likely be cautious in a game that doesn’t really matter to the future of the team.
Seattle-
Matt Hasselbeck, QB: Hasselbeck will miss action yet again this week. Seneca Wallace might be worth looking at this week. It just doesn’t seem right that Hasselbeck will not be able to play in Mike Holmgren’s final game as the Head Coach of the Seahawks.
Tampa Bay-
Jeff Garcia, QB: John Gruden is pretty confident his starter will be able to go this weekend, after missing time last week. Garcia was limited Friday in practice though, so use caution when starting him.
Washington-
Clinton Portis, RB: Portis woke up on Friday with back spasms, and it is unclear on whether he will play this weekend. Coach Jim Zorn also thinks Portis will play. It seems like a safe bet to start him.
