Monday Morning Full Court Press: Ariza, Pedro,

AUTHOR: joe dexter | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet |

What a weekend in sports. We saw two number one seeds and a Two seed fall off the face of the earth. Who would of thought Arizona would have laid the law on Carolina?

Maybe I can help you with the hangover, by bringing you the Full Court Press:

NBA:

  • Looking for a forward to replace Lamar Odom? The answer lies in teammate Trevor Ariza, who has already been spectacular this season. Ariza logged 33 minutes in the Laker’s last game and will continue to log major minutes with both Luke Walton and Lamar Odom out to injury. The Lakers play five games in the next eight days.
  • Have an open spot on your roster, and looking for a bloomer? Here are a couple of names from ESPN.com’s Adam Madison.  Sixers guard Lou Williams- The Sixers need to mix up their lineup soon, and Williams would be the guy to spark the offense.  At one point, Lou was averaging 16 points for the Sixers. Another name mentioned is Minnesota guard Sebastian Telfair.  He will take over the point with Kevin Ollie down to injury

Weekend Injuries:

Kendrick Perkins (shoulder), Josh Howard (Wrist), Jose Caledron (Shoulder)
Chris Kaman (Out until after the all-star break).

NHL:

Martin Gerber’s days in Ottawa are numbered- After letting go of Ray Emery, it seems that the Senators will waive Gerber any time now, according to the Edmonton Sun.

Kristian Huselius returns- Huselius returned to action on Saturday, and will work with Rick Nash on his line. This could be a good pick up if available, because he can dish and score.

MLB:

Pedro to the Marlins?- Pedro Martinez has interest in pitching for the Marlins. He could be a great addition for their staff, simply because of the young pitching around him that could use his experience. His value might not mean anything, but his teaching ability could be valued in pitchers Chris Vomstad, Ryan Tucker and Andrew Miller. The Marlins still insist they are not interested in Pedro.

Micheal Young Value in 2009?- With Mike Young on the trading block, I wonder this Monday, If Mike Young has better value in a different market. He gets great protection in Texas though.
