League News:
– According to the Dallas News, the Mavericks are searching around the league for trade options. One of the most talked about players is Jerry Stackhouse, who asked to be traded in November, and hasn’t played since then due to injury. The idea would be to package him with a highly touted Brandon Bass for someone that could help now. Let’s just hope they don’t make the same mistake that they did with Devin Harris, who is tearing up the hardwood in New Jersey. Stackhouse, if dealted and healthy, could be a wonderful scoring option off the bench.
–Various reports are stating that the Heat have offer Shawn Marion to the Kings for forwards Kenny Thomas and Brad Miller. The Heat are really looking to add size depth after center Alonzo Morning officially retired. The Kings are looking to move forward with the young big men that they have on their roster, and adding Marion actually gives the Kings someone who can drive to the basket. The Portland Trail Blazers are also reported to be interested in Brad Miller.
–Fantasy stud Andray Blatche will miss 2-4 weeks with a knee injury. This is yet another hit to the Wizards lineup. He had started every single game and was averaging 10 points per game and just over 5 rebounds.
– Zydrunas Ilgauskas returned to practice yesterday, and is planning a comeback on Thursday. Illgauskas has been out for more than a month. Pick him up if you have an oppurtunity and need some ‘mad’ rebounding.
