New England has done it again. Drafted in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL draft, Matt Cassel was considered a throw away pick. He never started a game at the college level. Bill Belichek and company found out different though early in 2008 when Tom Brady went down and made many fantasy owners cry (literally, cry).
When Matt Cassel finally found a rhythm though, we could finally dry up some of those tears. 3,693 yards and 21 touchdowns later, owners in keeper leagues are stick in the situation of figuring out what to do with 2008’s from rags to riches [...]
Not a lot of sports news really floating around today, but we have a bunch of fantasy news to report. Let’s get it started with NBA News.
NBA:
Devin Harris tweaked his hamstring last night. He didn’t return for the second half of action. The Nets do not play until Wednesday, so he could play in their next matchup. He is currently listed as day-to-day. Harris is averaging 23 points a game. He is also averaging near seven assists a game.
Mike Dunleavy is expected to make his season debut tomorrow with the Pacers. He is supposed to be limited to start off [...]
I’m still adjusting to the whole new year thing. Now that I am finally adjusting to it (A.K.A finally home for the holidays) its time to settle in. I can’t think of a better way to start, than with today’s full court press:
Pat Burrell found a home a lot quicker than many people thought. Burrell will be the everyday DH in Tampa. How will this effect his numbers? I honestly think it will bring a mass decrease in his power and a slight increase in strikeouts. Burrell was rumored to be a suitor for the opening DH spot with Oakland. [...]
Here are some news and notes going into this weekend’s play around the NBA.
Stephon Marbury to the Celtics? I know it sounds loopy now, but to be reunited with his former teammate, KG could boost his stats a bit. For one, he would actually be playing. Number Two, he is actually excited about basketball. Man alive this could be a solid pickup, if the Knicks and Marbury can work out a buyout.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas will miss up to a month of action with a fractured ankle. Ilgauskas is the Cav’s third leading scorer, and is a key component on the glass [...]
