AUTHOR: joe dexter | IN: Fantasy News, Featured, Full Court Press, MLB, NBA, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s an action packed tuesday! The NFL Dog Pack Commishoner’s office could throw the hammer down on troubled quarterback Mike Vick and Wide Receiver Plaxico Burress. Last week, Donte Stallworth got the news that hitting someone while your drunk does end up in punishment. The Good in Goodell suspended the troubled wide receiver indefinitely, and this time Stallworth can’t pay restitution.
In the NBA, Yao Ming’s career might be over. We will take a look at the options that he has going into the off-season. His foot injury might be career ending, but Yao sure has opened up the floodgates for [...]

Sexy Second and Third option Receivers

AUTHOR: joe dexter | IN: Fantasy News, Featured, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

Just a few years ago, names like Marvin Harrison, Chad Ocho Cinco Johnson, Torry Holt and Donald Driver were must haves, or at least early targets when fantasy football drafts get underway. Now the draft class has revolutionized into a group of young stars. Teammates Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin dominate like teammates Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne did en route to the their super bowl championship. Greg Jennings has slowly become the go to guy in Green Bay, and up and coming Calvin Johnson has the ability to put yardage numbers similar to Torry Holt did in his prime.  It’s a [...]

30 Days in the Hole: Stallworth, Favre, Vick and Burress should not be on your radar

AUTHOR: joe dexter | IN: Featured, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

What does an blood alcohol level of .126, a black Bentley, and a chain of horrible decisions get you? Unfortunately for one family, it cost the life of 59 year old Mario Reyes. Unfortunately it only cost Browns Wide Receiver Donte Stallworth 30 days in prison, and an indefinite suspension by football commissioner Roger Goodell.  Stallworth faced up to 15 years in prison, but after settling on a value of restitution estimated at anywhere between two and five million dollars, Stallworth walked away with less time in the slammer than Michael Vick.  He will serve two years under house arrest, and eight years of probation after getting out [...]

Prospects that could make the jump in 2009

AUTHOR: joe dexter | IN: Featured, MLB | COMMENTS: None Yet

With the all-star break quickly approaching, the major call ups are just around the corner. As teams continue to fall in the standings and out of contention, we could see an influx of young talent brought up to compete at the Major League level. The trade deadline will see veterans lost to teams in the hunt. For some special prospects, they could become the answer a team is looking for in the last half of the 2009 season. Here are some players to watch out for fantasy wise, that could make a difference in the upcoming months.
Jordan Danks, OF Chicago White Sox- [...]

MLB Draft Day Mock Final- Round One

AUTHOR: joe dexter | IN: Featured, MLB Mock Draft | COMMENTS: None Yet

Here is the final Mock draft of Round one as the Nationals are on the clock at 5:40 PM ET on the MLB Network and MLB.com:

1. Washington Nationals- Stephen Strasburg, RHP,  San Diego State: As we have been saying all along, this is a no brainer. Strasburg’s manager Tony Gwynn believes he could immediately be the number one arm out of college for the Washington Nationals, and would fit nicely as the number three starter behind Chris Young and Jake Peavy in San Diego. The Nationals will pick at ten as well, where they might focus more on a position [...]

McCutchen and Beckham Debut

AUTHOR: joe dexter | IN: Featured, MLB | COMMENTS: None Yet

Two days after the debut of top Pirate prospect Andrew McCutchen, the White Sox called up a doozie of their own. Gordon Beckham, now the fourth player from the class of 2008 to make it to the majors, didn’t have the success that the new everyday Pirate outfielder did, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be common to see Beckham in the lineup. The White Sox, besides Paul Konerko, field a completely different infield from last year’s division champion squad. General Manager Ken Williams could also lose Jermaine Dye, Octavio Dotel, Jose Contreras, and Jim Thome this off-season. That’s why [...]
