ESPN Rankings 31-35

by Fantasy News

Another round of ESPN rankings followed by my analysis. The ranking list seems to be a bit fluid, with ESPN moving guys up and down frequently. So my numbers might be different than the current ones, but they will at least give you an idea.

31.  Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City, WR

Bowe should get a decent number of targets this season and will benefit from an upgrade at the quarterback position. Matt Cassell has to be better than Tyler Thigpen (right?) and new coach Todd Haley seemed to do well with the Arizona receivers last year. Bowe was 16th among wideouts last year and will probably be near that spot again this season.

32. Marques Colston, New Orleans, WR

Colston was injured last season so there is some uncertainty surrounding him this year. Early reports from training camp have him and Drew Brees back on the same page, so Colston should bounce back this year. The only thing that scares me is it seems that the Saints have a lot of receiving options in their offense.

33. Kurt Warner, Arizona, QB

If Warner stays healthy he should be one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy football. Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are two of the best receivers in the NFL so Warner has plenty of weapons at his disposal. His health seems to be the only obstacle to a productive season.

34. Ryan Grant, Green Bay, RB

Grant has been lingering in the later rounds of fantasy drafts due to a lackluster season last fall. He is the clear-cut No. 1 back in a productive offense so there is hope for a turnaround. If nothing else, Grant should get some goal-line carries that result in a decent number of touchdowns. He’s not a great receiver though, so that hurts his value in PPR leagues.

35. Brandon Marshall, Denver, WR

Marshall has been missing a lot of training camp practices and there are some questions surrounding his status with the team. Furthermore, Kyle Orton is now his quarterback, a considerable dropoff from Jay Cutler. If you draft Marshall, do it with the idea that he will score significantly fewer points with Orton as his QB. And also consider that he may not even be a Bronco when the season starts.
