66. Reggie Bush, New Orleans, RB
Bush should be rated higher in PPR leagues because he should catch about 70 passes this season. But he is plagued by health problems and the presence of Pierre Thomas. Bush won’t get many goal-line carries so he’s going to have to score his touchdowns outside of five yards. He’s a borderline No. 2 RB in PPR leagues and a backup in others.
67. Jamal Lewis, Cleveland, RB
I’m not very high on Lewis this year. Cleveland’s passing game won’t keep many defenders out of the box and Lewis has durability issues on top of that. He will get the goal-line carries in Cleveland and his new coach favors the run, so he’s not a complete write-off, but he shouldn’t be drafted for much more than depth.
68. Hines Ward, Pittsburgh, WR
Veteran receivers never get much love in fantasy football, but they should. Ward was 17th among wideouts last year, 15 spots ahead of Santonio Holmes, who is being drafted much higher than Ward this year. Ward’s strengths are his hands and his route-running, two things that shouldn’t disappear just yet. His health is a concern, but if he can stay on the field, he should produce close to Holmes’ points in PPR leagues at a much later draft spot.
69. Ray Rice, Baltimore, RB
It’s hard to guess how Baltimore’s RB situation is going to shake out, but Rice should play a significant role. The rumor is that Willis McGahee is trying hard to keep his job, so that could hurt Rice a bit. Plus, Rice doesn’t figure to get goal-line carries so that won’t help him either. I like him as a third RB in PPR leagues, but would be nervous using him for anything else.
70. Matt Cassel, Kansas City, QB
Cassel has Dwayne Bowe to throw to and not much else. The Chiefs could struggle defensively, which should help Cassel’s fourth quarter stats, but he’s certainly not an elite fantasy QB. He’ll have a hard time meeting his totals from last season when he worked with a star-studded cast in New England. Cassel should probably be ranked somewhere around No. 15-20 in the quarterback pool.
