75. Jay Cutler, Chicago, QB
Cutler played pretty well in his last preseason game and has developed a pretty good rapport with tight end Greg Olsen and his old college teammate Earl Bennett (who might be a pretty good sleeper this year). I like Cutler to finish in the top 10 this year, ahead of Matt Cassel, whom ESPN put a few spots higher.
76. Santonio Holmes, Pittsburgh, WR
There’s a lot to like about Holmes, who finished a solid season last year with the Super Bowl MVP trophy. But Holmes still might not be the best fantasy wideout on his team, especially in PPR leagues. Hines Ward is likely to remain as the top target in the Steelers offense and will be a red-zone vulture for Holmes. Last year Ward (No. 17) finished 15 spots higher than Holmes (No. 32). Take Holmes if you want more upside, take Ward if you just need a consistent performer.
78. Chris “Beanie” Wells, Arizona, RB
Wells has been plagued by an injury history that has already flared up in Cardinals training camp. Furthermore, Tim Hightower has quietly put together a pretty solid preseason. I would drop Wells a few spots on both accounts. He could end up being a pretty good player for Arizona, but it may not be this year.
79. Chris Cooley, Washington, TE
Cooley was fifth overall among tight ends despite scoring only one touchdown last season. If you figure that he’ll get into the endzone more often this year – and he really should – he’s worth a much higher pick. I’d put him about fifth among tight ends after Gonzalez, Gates, Witten and Dallas Clark. He’s a good value pick this year.
80. Kevin Walter, Houston, WR
Walter is one of those guys that makes fantasy football such an interesting game. He probably wouldn’t rank among the top 60 wide receivers in terms of actual talent, but he finished 23rd among wideouts last year in fantasy points. He figures to have another solid season this year considering he plays opposite Andre Johnson and the Texans should throw a lot this fall. He’s prone to falling in drafts because he’s not a big name, but he’s a pretty good player to have on your team, especially in PPR leagues.
