ESPN Ratings 66-70

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

66. Reggie Bush, New Orleans, RB
Bush should be rated higher in PPR leagues because he should catch about 70 passes this season. But he is plagued by health problems and the presence of Pierre Thomas. Bush won’t get many goal-line carries so he’s going to have to score his touchdowns outside of five yards. He’s a borderline No. 2 RB in PPR leagues and a backup in others.
67. Jamal Lewis, Cleveland, RB
I’m not very high on Lewis this year. Cleveland’s passing game won’t keep many defenders out of the box and Lewis has durability issues on top of that. He [...]

What About Favre?

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, the good ole boy is back once more and now fantasy football is left to figure out what to do with this Brett Favre character. Minnesota’s running game is great, its receivers are mediocre and its defense is excellent. And also figure in that Favre will be playing half of his games in a dome. So what does that all mean?
I’m guessing all those elements will put Favre inside the top 15 quarterbacks if he’s healthy. And that’s a fairly big “if”. He’s an old man with an arm recovering from surgery and some previous damage to his rotator cuff already. [...]

ESPN Rankings 61-65

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

After a brief hiatus (I was busy dodging the rumored punches of Tom Cable), I’m back. Here is a look at the latest round of ESPN fantasy football rankings and my analysis.
61. Chad Ochocinco, Cincinnati, WR
Okay, full disclosure. I’m a huge Bengals fan. But this is too low for The Ocho, down here in the beginning of round 6. His dismal totals last year were still probably worth a sixth-round pick, but this year he should be much, much better. Carson Palmer is back for the Bengals and Chad seemed to exhibit some of his old moves and quickness with a long catch [...]

Quick Hits: Preseason Reactions

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

These thoughts are nothing more than my gut feelings after seeing a few minutes of some random preseason games. Take them for what they are worth, which might not be much.
It looks like Mark Sanchez might be on track to start for the Jets.
I think the 49ers will run a lot this year. A whole lot.
Vernon Davis looks pretty good.
I think Sage Rosenfels will be the starter in Minnesota.
Jeremy Shockey had a nice day for New Orleans. He reportedly was working out with Drew Brees consistently over the summer.
Darren McFadden had a huge day for Oakland. I think he will be [...]

Games On!

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

The NFL preseason continues tomorrow with four more games, four Friday and six on Saturday. Watch a few games and learn what you can, that info will be valuable on draft day.

Man 2 Man looks at Brady vs. Brees. I’d take Brees. The Saints D is bad enough to get Brees in some shootouts and Brees plays in a dome. That helps during the fantasy playoffs.

ESPN Rankings 56-60

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

56. LenDale White, Tennessee, RB
White is supposedly in great shape this year and might have moved past his Len “Whale” days. In any case, he’s still not a great fantasy option because Chris Johnson will get the most touches with the Titans. White will get perhaps 10 carries a game and the vast majority of goal-line carries. He’s pretty valuable in touchdown-only leagues and exactly the opposite in PPR/yardage leagues.
57. Antonio Bryant, Tampa Bay, WR
Hard to believe, but Jeff Garcia is actually a significant upgrade to what the Buccaneers figure to have at quarterback this season. Bryant was ninth among [...]
