One of my favorite features from ProFootballTalk is the weekly injury update. PFT wades through all the truths, half-truths, and flat-out lies in the NFL injury report and gives you the highlights. Here’s this week’s version:
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (ankle) fully participated in practice.
Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel (knee) was a limited participant.
Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb (rib) did not practice.
Bells have been ringing in Baltimore; Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs missed practice due to a concussion and a chest injury, safety Tom Zbikowski missed practice with a concussion, and safety Ed Reed was a limited participant in practice due to a concussion.
Cardinals receiver Steve Breaston (knee) missed practice, and wideout Anquan Boldin (hamstring) participated on a limited basis.
Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart (heel) didn’t practice.
Packers receiver Greg Jennings (wrist) participated on a limited basis.
Browns running back Jamal Lewis was a limited participant, due to a neck injury.
Texans receiver Kevin Walter (hamstring) fully participated in practice, as did safety Eugene Wilson (knee).
Titans tight ends Bo Scaife (knee) and Jared Cook (ankle) missed practice.
Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo, who reportedly has a Grade 3 MCL sprain, did not practice, but is not yet listed as “out.”
Saints running back Pierre Thomas (knee) fully participated.
Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson (groin) was a limited participant.
Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons (ankle) participated on a limited basis.
Seahawks receiver Deion Branch (hamstring) and receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back spasms) missed practice.
Buccaneers receiver Antonio Bryant (knee) was a limited participant.
Giants safety Kenny Phillips (knee) and cornerback Aaron Ross (hamstring) missed practice.
