Unlocking the Handcuff

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Common fantasy football logic says you should handcuff your running backs. It protects your investment and prevents you from losing a starter in case of injury. Well, I’ve largely been avoiding that strategy this season. Here’s why:
With the increase of running back platoons, handcuffs are being drafted higher than ever. According to fantasyfootballcalculator.com, LenDale White and Felix Jones are being drafted in the sixth round. Jonathan Stewart is going in the seventh. Ahmad Bradshaw and LeSean McCoy are being drafted in the eighth. While a lot of these guys have value on their own, those picks are too high to [...]

Get Ready for the Surge!

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’ll be finishing this Labor Day weekend with a surge to help you through all your last-minute fantasy drafts.
Here’s a link to my favorite site, fantasyfootballcalculator.com, for average draft positions. It’s user-friendly and easy to sort by positions or number of league franchises (for 8, 10, 12, or 14-team leagues). The site also seems to run mock drafts on a regular basis, so you can be confident the rankings are fairly up to date.
Good luck.

ESPN 96-100

AUTHOR: roto pro | IN: Fantasy News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Here they are, the final five. ESPN’s rankings followed by my analysis.
96. Felix Jones, Dallas, RB
The early reports on Jones are good and he should get around 10-15 touches per game in the Dallas offense. Marion Barber will still get the goal-line carries, but Jones has home-run potential every time he gets the ball. Plus, Barber is due to break down given his physical running style. I like Jones as a third RB this season.
97. Steve Breaston, Arizona, WR
Breaston might be the most valuable third receiver in the entire NFL. Arizona will continue to throw the football frequently and Breaston [...]
