Weekend Reading: Holds, Hardy, and (closer) Headaches

Austin Jackson | Yardbarker

On weekends in place of the usual “Wrapping Up” we’ll serve up an assortment of Weekend Reading material from some of the best fantasy writers around the country.

– Holds has become a stat category that is commonplace in many leagues, but projecting players to fill up that category is often harder than it might seem. ESPN’s Tristan Cockroft gives it a go in his “Relief Efforts” column this week. (ESPN)

– Looking to find the guy ready to break out in week two of the fantasy season? CBS’ Jeff Lippman is on the lookout as well and breaks down his picks to click in this week’s edition of his column “Splitsville.” (CBS)

– Razzball has a good list of Buy/Sell candidates through the first week of the season. They lead in support of the Twins’ J.J. Hardy, a candidate primed for a rebound after a difficult 2009. Check out the other pickup and drop candidates. (Razzball)

– Yahoo’s Brad Evans lets loose with his first Weekly Rundown of the season and touches on the Rangers’ Frank Francisco, who blew his second save of the young season this afternoon against Seattle. (RotoArcade)
