2010 Updated NFL Playoff Scenarios and Seeds

16 weeks down and 1 to go.  Here is where everything currently stands:

AFC

AFC East

New England Patriots-clinched #1 seed and home field advantage

New York Jets-clinched wildcard spot and will get the #5 seed with a win, a Ravens win and a Steelers loss. Becomes #6 with a loss, a Steelers win and a Ravens loss.

AFC West

Kansas City Chiefs clinched the division and clinch the #3 seed with a win or a Colts loss. Would fall to the 4th seed with a loss and a Colts win.

AFC South

Jacksonville Jaguars clinch with a win plus an Indianapolis Colts loss

Colts clinch with a win or tie OR a Jacksonville loss or tie

AFC North

Pittsburgh Steelers clinch the division and first round bye with:

A win OR a tie plus a Baltimore Ravens loss or tie OR a Ravens loss.

Baltimore Ravens clinch the division and first round bye with:

Win plus a Pittsburgh loss or tie OR a tie and a Pittsburgh loss.

The Steelers would earn the #5 seed with a loss, a Ravens win and a Jets loss and would turn into a #6 seed with a loss and wins by the Ravens and the Jets.

The Ravens cannot go any lower than the #5 seed.

NFC

NFC East

Philadelphia Eagles clinched the division and are locked in as the #3 seed.

The New York Giants clinch a playoff spot with:

1) NYG win + GB loss or tie

2) NYG tie + GB loss + TB loss or tie

NFC West

The Seattle Seahawks clinch the division with a win

The St. Louis Rams clinch the division with a win or tie

Winner would earn the #4 seed.

NFC South

The Atlanta Falcons can clinch the division and the #1 seed with a win next week over Carolina.

The New Orleans Saints clinched a playoff spot with a win on Monday over Atlanta and still could win the South and the #1 seed with a win next week over Tampa and an Atlanta loss to Carolina.

The Tampa Bay Bucs clinch a spot with:

1) TB tie + NYG loss + GB loss

2) TB win + NYG loss or tie + GB loss or tie

NFC North

Chicago Bears clinched the division, the #2 seed and a first round bye.

The Green Bay Packers clinch a spot with:

1) GB win

2) GB tie + NYG loss or tie + TB loss or tie

3) NYG loss + TB loss
