The NFL lockout is about to be over and just in time for the 4th of July (Picture source: blippitt.com)

According to Yahoo Sports’ Dan Wetzel, the “framework” of a new collective bargaining agreement could be in place by this weekend.
If the two sides reach that point, they would then retreat to their respective corners to present the deal for approval. “A June 30 or July 4 announcement is a reasonable expectation,” Wetzel’s source said, agreeing with a CBSSports.com report that the deal was “80-85 percent done.” ESPN’s Adam Schefter weighed in Tuesday night, advising continued patience. In the face of rampant “hope, enthusiasm, and optimism,” Schefter’s source says, “There’s some irrational exuberance seeping in.”
Yes, yes, and yes again! I think the 4th of July will be a huge party if the NFL markets this right, and knowing the NFL, they will. I expect an announcement to be made the weekend of the 4th. Sales will sky rocket, with food and fireworks. Who knows, the NFL may have had this planed the whole time. The economy isn’t doing well, and the announcement that the lockout is over would give the whole USA a shot in the arm for the 4th of July weekend.
It sure looks like football is well on its way, and I can’t wait. For all the people that were worried (counting me) looks like we can all take a deep breath and exhale….we will have Football soon.
On a side note: I still have some spots open for the Fantasy CPR fantasy football league.
Please email me at
[email protected] if you would like to join. This will be an “EXPERT” league. So, please no rookies.
It will be tons of fun, and the winner will get something. Only catch is I will be blogging about the league on Fantasy CPR.
Thanks for the time fantasy people,
Christopher Halfer…AKA…Mr. Freakin’ Fantasy.
