2011 Fantasy Football Sleepers

Starks helped Green Bay win a title last year when Grant went down. Will he have a chance at starting this year for the Packers? (Picture source: jamesstarks.com)

If you have been keeping up with my blogs here at Fantasy CPR you know I have already listed one sleeper list. I think it’s about time for some more sleepers. As of right now the lockout looks to be about three to four weeks from being over. Some believe it will be over sooner (I think before the 4th of July) and I sure hope it is. So, with that being said, you need to start getting your draft cheat sheets ready. What better way to do that, then to come here for some more fantasy sleepers!

Jacoby Ford, Raiders. He showed some great flashes last year as a WR. Ford’s numbers weren’t that great last year: 470 yards with only 2 receiving td’s. He did have 155 rush yards to go along with 2 rushing td’s. So, put all that together and you get 625 and 4. Still, not great, but you will be able to draft him for next to nothing. Take a gamble on him in the last three rounds or so. You might end up with a solid 3WR.

C.J Spiller, Bills. What a horrible rookie year Spiller had. 283 rushing with 0 td’s and 157 receiving with 1 td. Man was he bad. I’m not throwing in the towel just yet though. I know the Bills already said that he will remain behind Jackson, but take a flier on him late. C.J has a lot of talent for him not to get a shot at starting for the Bills at some point. Jackson is not the answer!

Matt Stafford, Lions. If he can stay healthy Matt could end up top ten at QB. There is so much talent on this team. Megatron, Best, both TE’s are good, Nate Burleson. In Safford’s two games before he got hurt he already had 535 and 6. Take a chance with him, Matt could end up the steel of this years FFB draft!

James Starks, Packers.  Not sure the health of Ryan Grant as of right now, but it might not even matter. James played outstanding in the playoffs last year. I believed James showed he could carry the load if given the opportunity. He was a big reason why the Packers were able to win the title last year. Now, I’m not saying that Grant is just going to fade away because the Packers own him a lot of money. I just get the feeling that by mid season Starks could be the feature RB for the Packers.

Emmanuel Sanders, Steelers. Not sure what Ward has left in the tank after winning dancing with the stars, but Sanders was playing more snap counts toward the end of last year. I think Sanders could be starting after the first month of the season, maybe even sooner. Take a chance with Sanders late in the draft.

Well, that concludes another sleeper blog.

Thanks for the time,

Christopher Halfer…AKA…Mr. Freakin’ Fantasy
