2011 Fantasy Football Top 15 RB Rankings

by Fantasy

If you have the number one pick in your Fantasy Football draft.....pick AP. (Picture Source: midwestsportsfans.com)

Fantasy Football information is ever changing. The Lockout is not even over and I already have revised my RB rankings for the year.  If you are preparing for an early fantasy draft it’s vital you keep up with the changing news that’s hitting the scene. Lucky for you Fantasy CPR is doing just that.

1. Adrian Peterson.  As of right now he is the number one PICK and it’s not even close in my book. Some other sites will have Foster, but he comes with a little more risk in my book. If you land the number one pick, do yourself a favor and draft AP.

2. Arian Foster. I had CJ at number two about a month ago, but not anymore for reasons that will be stated later. Foster is on a prolific offence and should be the man for Houston. Gary still makes me nervous though. I don’t expect Foster to repeat last years numbers, but he should be a lock for ten TD’s.

3. Jamaal Charles. What’s this I here?? Jamaal is  going to be handed a bigger work load for 2011…. thank God. This guy is a flat out stud. I wouldn’t blame people is they wanted to draft him over Foster. Jamaal’s speed is second to none. The offence should even be better this year, and Thomas Jones looks to have been moved to the bench…..where he belongs.

4. Chris Johnson. The reason for moving CJ to the 4th spot is simple. CJ might hold out for a bigger contract this year. I don’t blame him. A RB’s life span is not long, so he’s needs to make his money. So, drafting CJ comes with risk. I do believe that if they don’t give him a new contract he will hold out.

5. Ray Rice. I think the Ravens get back to running the ball more this year. Also, there have been rumors that the Ravens might even cut Willis McGahee for not taking a pay cut. If that happens, Rice could have his first ten TD season. Don’t let Rice fall to far in your draft. He could end up a steel even at the 5th spot.

6. LeSean McCoy. Andy Reid has said that he now believes McCoy can handle a full load. What that means to me is, more carries for this RB on the rise. I think the Eagles run the ball more in general for the upcoming season. They need to protect Vick, and keep him away from those big hits. McCoy could have a break out season on the way.

7. Maurice Jones-Drew. This guy now scares me for the 2011 season. It has been said the MJD just got back to running at full speed. That’s not good news. I am down on the whole offence for the Jaguars this season, and now with this latest news I really don’t want any part of it. It will be hard to pass on MJD at seven, but even at seven be careful. I thought he was back to full speed months ago. I don’t know what to believe now with MJD.

8. Rashard Mendenhall. Big Ben might need foot surgery. If that happens and Ben misses any time, the Steeler’s will run even more. I think Rashard should be a lock for ten 10 TD’s this year. Only problem with Rashard is he doesn’t catch the ball, which hurts his value. Rashard will still have top ten numbers.

9. Steven Jackson. If SJ39 can stay health for the whole year, this could be the year he gets ten TD’s. The Rams offence might be explosive this year with Josh McDaniel’s coming to town. I expect SJ39 to get many more chances inside the ten yard line. As well as more receptions. He could put up top five numbers if everything goes is way.

10. Michael Turner. I still like Turner, but after going back to last years tapes and watching him run the last four games of the season, Turner looked really bad. Also, the Falcons have been rumored to be putting the keys in Matt Ryan’s hands this year. With the drafting of J. Jones, it makes sense. The Falcons learned last year after getting blown out by the Packers they would need to be more explosive. I think that comes at Turner’s expense this year. Turner can’t catch the ball…at all. So, if the Falcon’s do start throwing more. Turner might be in for a bad year.

11. Frank Gore. This guy has so much talent, but he can never stay healthy. Plain and simple, if Gore can stay healthy he will be a steel at 11. Only problem is, Gore most likely will get hurt at some point and kill your fantasy team. Let some else pay the price for Gore this year. He did just break his hip in 2010.

12. Darren McFadden. For some reason every other Fantasy site has him top ten, heck I have even seen him in the 6th spot at some places. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! This guy is an injury waiting to happen. Also, last time I checked he still played for the Raiders. Who is the Raiders QB?? Who is the Raiders number one WR?? If teams are smart they will stack the box and make some else bet them. Hey, if you can land him as a number two RB for your team….count me in. McFadden’s price tag is just to high for me at where he’s being drafted.

13. Peyton Hillis. Peyton could end up the bust of 2011 very easily. The Browns have already said they aren’t going to run him like they did in 2010. Peyton should still get the goal line carries and have value, but the return of M. Hardesty will cut into his stock. Be careful reaching to high for Hillis.

14. Admad Bradshaw. My gut tells me he stays in New York, but you never know because he will be a free agent. He had a break out year last year, and if he returns to the Giants Admad will be the lead RB again. Admad will make a solid number two RB this year if he stays with the Giants.

15. LeGarrett Blount. I really like the whole Tampa Bay team this year. Blount came on strong last year, and will be the lead back for 2011. Only problem with Blount is he can’t catch the ball, and doesn’t pass protect well. Blount still has a good chance to reach ten TD’s with Tampa this year.

Look for the new top 15 WR’s coming soon!

Thanks for the time,

Christopher Halfer…AKA…Mr. Freakin’ Fantasy.
