Another great football weekend is in the books with lots of very important games in all the sports. In college basketball, our first #1 went down as UNC was upset by an ultimate cinderella in UNLV. In college football, all the championship games are set, come back later this week for my picks and analysis. We even had some NBA news as it looks like the owners and players are ready to play nice so we can have some pro hoops action to look forward to starting on Christmas. Keep comin’ back for all the NBA breakdown as we near that season as well. Lastly, but definitely not least, the NFL gave us a full slate of games and another great fantasy week. Today at noon you can catch the Fantasy Football Star Watch with breakdown, analysis, and strategy from all of yesterday’s games. And yes, we’ve still got a great one tonight.
After the jump, I’ll give you my Streak for the Cash picks of the day including which QB I think will dominate tonight. Make your picks for this Monday, enjoy the great games on the schedule no matter what sport you enjoy and come back at noon for the Star Watch where you can find all the fantasy breakdown from yesterday’s games.
If you’d like to join us as we play Streak for the Cash or just learn more about the game click on the Leagues and Groups tab on the top bar and join our group over on ESPN. Yesterday, my picks were rolling right along (up to a W3) until the Steelers let me down and didn’t win by double digits. Here’s where I’m headed with my picks:
3:00-Malaga win: Malaga’s 6-2-4 record is good for 6th in the table and they’ve been especially good (4-0-1) at home. Their sole loss at home came against Real Madrid which Villareal is far from in terms of quality of opponent. On the road Villarreal is 0-3-3 and have scores a single road goal in those 6 games whil giving up 10. Malaga at home should be able to handle Villareal on the road no problem. I’ll take them with a confidence level (CL)of 3 1/2 out of 5.
8:40-Drew Brees more yards in the first half: Drew’s my pick of the day as his home splits are just sick and Eli’s got no running game to speak of with Bradshaw still expected to be out. Eli will be throwing and it’s just a half so you never know but I think Brees wins this one fairly comfortably as he leads his marching Saints over the falling Giants. CL: 4
10:30-San Jose Sharks: The Sharks and Kings both last played on Saturday and both lost. The Sharks outshot Vancouver, but lost a tough one while the Kings continue to struggle offensively and dropped a 2-1 contest to the visiting Blackhawks. Before losing on Saturday, the Sharks had won 3 in a row and were starting to look like they were clicking. I think a face-off with the offensively challenged Kings is just the thing to set them back on the right track. The Sharks won a matchup of these 2 west coast foes November 7, 4-2 and I see a virtual repeat despite the Kings line-shakeups. I’ll take the Sharks with a CL: 3
current streak: L1
record this month: 47-36-3
pick of the day record: 0-1
