Fantasy Football-Saturday Night Football Recap

Tony Romo and the Cowboys weren’t going to let this one slip away in the 4th Quarter. They took care of the game early by hanging 28 first half points on a thin Bucs defense and coasting to victory 31-15. For the Cowboys it was a necessary win if they hope to make the playoffs and keeps the pressure on the Giants and the other wildcard contenders not to slip up on Sunday. Here’s what it means in the world of Fantasy Football.

Trending up: Tony Romo- Romo threw for 3 TDs to 3 different receivers and ran for another while throwing for 249 yards. You have to feel good about your chances if you have him and you’re in the playoffs after that mammoth performance… Felix Jones-Jones returned to his feature back roll and had a solid game, amassing 131 total yards on 22 carries and 3 catches. He was held out of the end zone though so it wasn’t a great game fantasy-wise but he was solid against a bad Tampa D…Miles Austin-of the 3 receiver with a TD (he, Dez Bryant, Laurent Robinson) he had more targets, 9, and more catches, 5. He appears to be the #1 receiver already even though he just returned from injury.

Trending Down: Tampa Bay-the whole team could go here really after allowing 41 unanswered last week and then 28 to start this week. The word is that the Bucs still have faith in Josh Freeman but he did little to reward that confidence tonight throwing 17-27 for 148 and a TD. He didn’t have an ab INT but did turn the ball over on a fumble. He also led the Bucs in rushing with 37 yards on the ground…LaGarrette Blount-Blount never really got the chance to get going and ended the day with only 9 carries on which he got an even less impressive 21 yards… Mike Williams- the supposed #1 receiver for Tampa was held catchless by a Dallas secondary that was chewed up and spat out by Eli Manning last week. Williams isn’t an option going forward…Kellen Winslow- caught only 4 passes for 37 yards. It’s hard to recommend any Tampa players and unless there are changes made in the offseason, I’ll do my best to stay away for next season until I see differently
