Fantasy Sports Daily Rounds-December 23

The daily rounds are getting started a little later today due to the holiday activities, but don’t worry, theress plenty of fantasy goodness coming your way today. In case you missed the action last night, let’s get caught up on what went down, then after the jump I’ll give you my thoughts on what’s in store for us the rest of the day.

The NFL game saw the Colts win their second in a row while the Texans dropped another game they needed. It confuses all the end of the year scenarios for both the draft and the playoffs. What is does mean, is that the rest of the games will have even more meaning to teams at both ends of the spectrum. You can catch up on all the latest in our  Fantasy Football recap of Thursday Night Football.

The NFL wasn’t the only football going down last night as Kellen Moore and Dennis Erickson both completed this stage of their careers in the MAACO bowl Las Vegas. Moore threw for 293 yards and 2 TDs, and led his Boise State Broncos to a 56-24 landslide victory over Erickson’s Arizona State Sun Devils. ASU did show some fight at times, and Brock Osweiler showed his potential, but as whole they came across as sloppy and selfish. New coach Todd Graham will have a lot of work to do to turn the program around. Kellen Moore moves on to the next level as well, where his size and arm strength will limit him, but he’ll be drafted in the middle rounds. Congratulations to him and all the BSU Sr’s on 50 wins in their years in Boise… Quite an impressive feat…

In college hoops, #15 Xavier went down and took my 3 game winning streak in Streak for the Cash down with it. The only other ranked team to lose was #24 Illinois who went down in a great game against #8 Mizzou. The Tigers are a fun, athletic team to watch and may make some noise in the tournament com March.

For the rest of today on CPR, we’ve got the 2nd half of our NFL  Week 16 Preview (part 1 here), a little bit of fantasy hoops later as I break down the bloggers’ league draft, and more bowl coverage throughout the day. We’ll start though with my Streak for the Cash picks right after the jump….Make sure you drop your bookmarks and keep on comin’ back to FantasyCPR where fantasy sports lives 365.

STREAK FOR THE CASH PICKS

Yesterday I had to go rapid-fire and it worked out quite well as I got to a W3 before the X-men let me down in Hawaii. I start today on an L1 becuase of it, and here’s how I’m planning on changing that: (and hey, rapid-fire worked well yesterday, let’s try it again)…

1:00-Valparaiso: because IUPUI dropped 8 of 9 before cleaning up some small schools in their last 3 and Valpo has won on the road at Butler and at Northern Illinois. 2 of Valpo’s 4 losses come to highly ranked opponents.

5:05-Any Other Result: Until the last game K-State had only beaten Maryland-Eastern Shore by 15 or more and UTEP just trounced Clemson so they’re playing well.

10:35-San Jose Sharks: They can score, 15 goals in 3 games at home on this homstand, and LA can’t not more than 3 goals in regulation and overtime in 13 games. Since the goal of hockey is score more than your opponent (last I checked), Shark-bite me.
