Hue Jackson fired by the Raiders

According to sources in Oakland, the AP and ESPN are saying that Hue Jackson has been fired as the coach of the Raiders. It seems a bit harsh to me after just 1 year and missing the playoffs by just a game after several years of being one of the worst teams in the league.

The Raiders could be a good fantasy offense next year with Carson Palmer for the full year and a healthy Darren McFadden and WR complement. They struggled to stay healthy at the skill positions this year.

Penalties and lack of discipline were seen as this year’s team’s problems, so I do understand the firing. With the right coach and the right system, this offense could be a nice source of fantasy points in the AFC West where they could once again challenge Rivers and Tebow for the playoffs.

Stay tuned for updates on who the Raiders hire and in what direction he takes the offense since there is talent here. The Fantasy value of Palmer, McFadden, Michael Bush, Denarius Moore, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Jacoby Ford, and Kevin Boss will in large part be determined by who the Raiders hire to replace Jackson as head coach.
