As we head into another big week of NBA action, making the right lineup moves is key for all those in weekly and daily formats. For daily updates check out our “Starting 5″ which comes out every day to recap the previous night in the NBA with lists of 5 either stepping up, or that you can be shipping out. Here’s the archive.
There are some key fantasy injuries that could change your league, so let’s take a look at the latest on all those battling injuries and either playing hurt or missing time.
Dwyane Wade-Mia: No injury impacts fantasy basketball, or the Association as much as the ankle sprain of D-Wade. Officially, he’s “out indefinitely” with “no timetable” for his return. He’s not in a walking boot which would seem to be a good sign but he’s probably not playing this week for sure. If you’re a Wade owner, try and replace his production as best you can. If you own LeBron James, look for a huge week.
Chris Paul-LAC: Paul was expected to have an MRI yesterday to determine the severity of his hamstring injury. He could miss a few games, but it’s not expected to be more severe than that. He’s day-to-day
Carmelo Anthony-NY: Anthony has wrist and ankle issues but is expected to return to action Monday.
Stephen Curry-GS: Curry is officially “out indefinitely” but it looks like he may return as early as Tuesday. It’s a tough call for weekly formats, but he should pay off if you can afford the risk of starting him
Andrew Bogut-Mil: Bogut has been cleared to practice after his concussions and is expected to return to the court tonight (Monday).
Andrea Bargnani-Tor: Day-to-day but expected to miss Monday at least before returning from his calf injury.
Steve Nash-Phx: Day-to-day but played Sunday so he should be good to go moving forward.
Al Horford-Atl: Horford is most likely out for the year after tearing his pectoral muscle. Zaza Pachulia and Ivan Johnson are taking his minutes.
Eric Gordon-NO: Gordon is still targeting an early February return but has yet to return to practice for the Hornets.
Marcus Thornton-Sac: Thornton played Saturday but struggled, partly due to his thigh injury. He should play but may struggle with his shot until he fully recovers.
Andray Blatche-Was: Blatche severely sprained his shoulder and is officially “day-to-day” but wil be out for several more days before coming back.
Chauncey Billups-LAC: Billups is expected to battle through his bad back and make the start tonight (Monday). He may be playing PG if Paul is out.
Jason Richardson-Orl: Richardson is expected to miss Monday, but is considered day-to-day with a knee injury.
Grant Hill-Phx: Day-to-day but played Sunday so he should be good to go moving forward.
Marcus Camby-Por: Camby has a ankle and foot injury which has him day-to-day but siad he’s in “a lot of pain.”
Michael Beasley-Min: Beasley may be coming off the bench when he returns with the emergence of Ricky Rubio into the starting lineup. There’s still no clear timetable for when he’ll return either, with the dreaded “out indefinitely” tag.
Corey Maggette-Cha: Maggette is still sidelined with a hamstring injury and won’t be back for at least a couple weeks.
Evan Turner-Phi: Turner is day-to-day after after suffering a quad contusion Saturday.
Mo Williams-LAC: With Chris Paul’s status unknown, Williams is also day-to-day with a sore right foot. He could have big upside if he’s in and Paul’s out, but it’s a risky play at best.
Richard Hamilton-Chi: Rip is still day-to-day and should be close to returning. In weekly formats, I’d wait until you see how he looks before starting him, but if you’ve held him this long you’re about to be rewarded.
Tracy McGrady-Atl: McGrady is day-to-day with a back injury but hopes to play tonight (Monday).
