Streak for the Cash Picks-February 12

This Sunday in the sports world there’s plenty of exciting action even without the NFL. Pebble Beach is finishing up a big golf tournament with a certain guy-in-red lurking just back of the leader. More on that in a minute…

Yesterday I went 3-3 and ran my winning streak to 8. There were definitely some tense moments last night as the Magic went down by 10 in the fourth quarter before Jason Richardson (who I cut from my blogger league team, oops) came through in a big way for Orlando and me as he caught fire from outside and secured the W for the Magic and the Green for me. This is my second W8 of the month  and hopefully I can stretch this one out with these picks:

12:35: Tiger Woods or Charlie Wi: The last 2 weeks the presumptive winner has collapsed on the final day and someone from the chase pack has emerged with the win. Kyle Stanley’s been on both ends of this scenario, but he’s not around for this week’s finish. Charlie Wi has a 3 stroke lead coming into the round and could cruise to a victory. The closest person to him is Ken Duke who’s at -12 and right behind him Tiger lurks (-11). If you pick the other option you’re taking Duke or someone coming from 6 strokes back or further to win. This one almost seems to easy, but I’ll take it and hope nothing bizarre happens. Plus, this way I get to cheer for Tiger who’s also on my fantasy golf team for the week.

7:05-Miami Heat: The only downside to taking the golf pick is that you can’t really be sure when it will wrap up. If it’s done in time, my next pick would be the Heat as they travel to Atlanta. The Hawks are good at home, but the Heat are…well… hot right now and with Wade, LeBron, and Bosh they should be able to handle the 2-man show of Josh Smith and Joe Johnson.

Current Streak-W8
