Injuries can make or break a season for NBA teams as well as fantasy hoops teams. Losing a key player and not realizing it can cost you a week while grabbing the right player who’s about to get a huge opportuniey can be the key to success. Here’s the latest on all the injury news headed into the 8th week of the season.

Derrick Rose-Chi: Rose missed the Bulls last 2 games with his continued back issues. He’s scheduled to see a specialist which may bring more clarity to the situation. He’s considered day-to-day at this point and it’s difficult to say exactly how many games he’ll play this week.
Carmelo Anthony-NY: Anthony won’t return Monday and Tuesday isn’t likely either, so he probably belongs on your bench for the week.
Amare Stoudemire-NY: Amare is on track to return on Monday to join the Linsanity.
Kyrie Irving-Cle: Irving is recovering from his concussion and appears to be on track for Wednesday’s game.
D.J. Augustin-Cha: Augustin is expected to return this week, but it won’t be tonight. He could be back as soon as Wednesday but will need to have a full practice tomorrow first.
Danilo Galinari-Den: Gallo is still about a month from returning.
Nene-Den: Nene will miss the next few games with a calf injury he suffered Saturday.

Brook Lopez-NJ: Lopez is shooting and is expected to take part in Nets practice Monday. He’s still week-to-week, but is nearing his return. He could make an appearance before the end of the week.
Andrea Bargnani-Tor: Bargnani still has no concrete timetable for his return, but he has been training and may return to the court for limited practice this week. The Raps are bringing him along slowly and may opt for after the All-Star break to try to bring him back.
Zach Randolph-Mem: Randolph plans on returning to the court for non-contact drills next week and would appear to be on track for a return right after the all-star break.
Jarrett Jack-NO: Jack will be out this week leaving Greivis Vasquez the starting PG position for the Hornets.
Jerryd Bayless-Tor: Bayless didn’t play yesterday against the Lakers as Jose Calderon went off in his absence. He’s day-to-day with an ankle injury and is most likely to return at some point this coming week.
Anderson Varejao-Cle: Varejao is expected to miss the next 2 weeks at least and could be out much longer after fracturing his wrist. His absence should result in an increase in minutes for Tristan Thompson and Semih Erden.
Spencer Hawes-Phi: Hawes is not with the Sixers on their current trip which means he’s out until Friday at the earliest as he continues to battle his achilles injury.
Darko Milicic-Min: Milicic is expected to return to the Wolves tonight, but his role is unclear after the emergence of Nikola Pekovic.
Baron Davis-NY: Davis is working out but with no contact and there’s still no concrete timetable for his return. With Jeremy Lin’s explosion onto the scene, Davis would probably not start right away.
Gerald Henderson-Cha: Henderson is expected to be out for this week, but is still trying to make it back before the all-star break.
Brandon Bass-Bos: Bass will be sidelined for the next couple weeks which may give rookie JaJuan Johnson an increased opportunity in Boston’s quickly thinning frontcourt ranks.
Thabo Sefolosha-OKC: His return could come this week, but there are probably better fantasy options out there.
Timofey Mozgov-Den: Mozgov is day-to-day with an ankle injury but expected to play Tuesday.
