According to Adam Shefter, Randy Moss has agreed to terms with San Francisco. It’s reportedly a one-year deal, and I think it’s a great move for the Niners since it’s low-risk. Jim Harbaugh has proven himself to be a strong leader and has been able to reclaim other “projects” like Vernon Davis and turn them into solid players.
Moss also makes a very interesting late-round flier in fantasy football. Just because of his past success, someone in your league will probably gamble on him. I definitely would try to avoid counting on him as one of your top 3 receivers, but if you can add him and see what happens go for it. He won’t have much competition unless the Niners make another big move. His addition also boosts the value of Michael Crabtree and Alex Smith as it gives San Francisco another possible weapon. It all comes down to his speed. If Moss can run and be a deep threat, he can add a lot to the offense. However, if he’s lost a step, he’ll have as much success as he did in his last 2 stops in Minnesota and Tennessee.
It’s a low-risk signing for the Niners. If you can add him to your fantasy football team at the same amount of low-risk, he could end up being fantasy relevant again this year.
