Streak for the Cash Picks-March 24

16 matchups await streakers on this Saturday the 24th or March. The first 2 teams in the final four will be decided today late this afternoon in Phoenix and then tonight in Boston. Those matchups are on the board along with props from those games, NHL action, NBA, PGA, and some early EPL.

March 22, 2012; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Louisville Cardinals forward Chane Behanan (24) dunks the ball against Michigan State Spartans center Derrick Nix (25) during the second half in the semifinals of the west region of the 2012 NCAA men

I’ve got Chelsea as I’m writing this since Indiana couldn’t keep it quite close enough last night breaking my streak and making me start today with an L1. Hopefully I can get that turned around and then get to these picks:

4:30-Louisville: Coach Pitino has his boys playing at a high level and after a solid run through the Big East tournament looks to make his 11th final four. He’s never lost in the elite 8. Although Florida is playing well, the Cardinals look to be in final 4 form yet again. Pitino just knocked out Tom Izzo and now he’ll face his former star Billy Donovan who played for Pitino at Providence. Look for the coach to school his player again and book a trip to the Big Easy for next weekend.

Mar 22, 2012; Boston, MA, USA; Syracuse Orange forward C.J. Fair (middle) shoots in the first half of the east region of the 2012 NCAA men

7:05-Syracuse: I’m a ‘Cuse fan so I’m admittedly biased, but the Wisconsin game showed how mentally tough this team is. The weakness of the Orange zone is having a team go off from 3. That’s what the Badgers did and they still managed to find a way to win (barely). The Buckeyes have been playing well, but don’t have an elite outside shooter. They rely on athleticism and size to score which is usually very effective. The Orange though can match up with their athletes, and I think Coach Boeheim will join Coach Pitino as Big East teams at the final 4.

10:05-Colorado: If I win the earlier games I’ll probably sit this one out, but the Avs will be my pick if I play. They’re at home, they need the win more ofr the playoff seeding, and Daniel Sedin is out for Vancouver causing them major offensive struggles. As the NHL season winds down, these hockey games start to get real interesting…
