ESPN Streak for the Cash players will be gettin’ their streak on tonight. With 15 matchups on the board again for today, you’d expect more early options, but there’s just one soccer matchup before the evening wave hits. Starting at 7, there’s baseball, baseball props, NHL Playoffs, one NBA game, and one NBA prop. There’s some matchups to fear and some matchups to love.
Yesterday, the early soccer spoiled my streak then I won my 2 later picks which I was more confident on to begin with. I won’t make the same mistake today. I’ll skip the early pick (although it’s included below if you need it), and look for another double-green night to get back to W4 by the end of the day.
2:45-Barcelona win: I don’t like giving the draw on the road, but Barca is so dominant and has such a history of success in the UEFA Champions League that there’s no way I’m taking Chelsea. The Blues have played better of late and have done well intrenationally even during domestic struggles, but Barca takes it to another level and is the best club team in the world, in my opinion. Confidence Meter: 4 (out of 10)-I’d be way more confident if I wasn’t giving the draw.
7:07-Tampa Bay Rays: David Price struggled against the Red Sox his last time out and will look to bounce back against a team he’s dominated during his AL East career. He’s 9-2 all-time against the Jays with a 1.57 ERA in his last 3 starts at the Rogers Center. The Rays have had problems of their own scoring runs against Price’s counterpart Brandon Morrow so I don’t think this will get super high-scoring and take a long time. I think Price will come out well-rested, he threw 83 pitches in 3 innings at Fenway, and he’ll look to take command and attack the strike zone like he did against the Yankees in his first start. I’ll take the Rays to even their series in Toronto tonight. Confidence Meter: 5
10:40-Lakers Winning Margin: The Lakers visit Golden State just a day after they were crushed at the Staples Center by the Spurs. Newsflash-the Warriors aren’t the Spurs. Golden State lacks size, and Andrew Bynum and/or Pau Gasol will tear them up while helping the Lakers win going away at the Oracle. I think Klay Thompson, Nate Robinson, and co. will shoot plenty of threes, but I don’t think they’ll be able to keep this one close at all. Golden State’s always a tough road game, but the Warriors are in full-on tank mode and the Lakers will be ticked about last night and possibly being caught by the Clippers. Confidence Meter: 6.5
Current Streak: W2
Overall Record for the month: 27-27
