Streak for the Cash Picks, April 19

Another happily crowded streak board awaits us. There’s 16 matchups on the board today including early PGA and MLB action with some Europa soccer, NHL playoffs, women’s NCAA softball, and college baseball filling the early evening and some more basketball and baseball closing out the evening.

Yesterday I went 2-2 in the picks I used personally and I warned you to be careful of the early soccer. I’m coming into today on a decent W4.

1:40-Kevin Na: As you can read here, I think Kevin Na is going to have a very nice tournament. Brendan Steele won the Texas Open last year, but has struggled this year missing his last 3 cuts. I don’t have Steele on my fantasy golf team, but I do have Na. Na should win this although giving the tie is never easy… Confidence Meter: 4 (out of 10)

7:07-Toronto Blue Jays: The rubber game of this 3-game set will feature 2 young right’s as Jeremy Hellickson of Tampa faces off with Henderson Alvarez of the Blu Jays. Alvarez has looked good in his first 2 starts at home while Hellickson was knocked around a little (5 R in 5 In) by the Red Sox in Fenway. The Jays have hit him well in the past, and I think they’ll finally get Alvarez a win after the bullpen has blown his last 2 starts where he left with the lead. Confidence Meter: 5

9:40-Atlanta Braves: The Braves send Mike Minor to the hill who threw 7.1 shutout innings his last time out. The offense is finally starting to click and they crushed the Mets the last 2 days outscoring them 23-9.  Minor will be opposed by Arizona righty Josh Collmenter. Collmenter showed promise last year but has been knocked around by the Rockies and Giants his first 2 times out with an ERA over 12 and a BAA over .320. Arizona will be without Chris Young who headed for teh DL with a shoulder injury and possibly Justin Upton as well who injured his left thumb. Confidence Meter: 6.5
