Streak for the Cash Picks, April 25

Tomorrow is scheduled to be a prop day on ESPN’s Streak for the Cash. They’re calling it “Draft Thursday” and there’s sure to be tons of picks to go with in morning golf, afternoon baseball, and the whole first round of the draft. Check out our mock if your interested in what I expect to go down tomorrow.

12:35-Colorado Rockies-Colorado has the better lineup especially with Carlos Gonzalez back and hitting 2 HR last night. The Pirates offense hasn’t been good and Juan Nicasio should be able to shut it down long enough for the Rockies bats to get to James McDonald and the Pirates ‘Pen. Confidence Meter: 3  (out of 10).

3:40-Arizona Diamondbacks-In the rubber game of the series I like Trevor Cahill and the snakes to take out Cole Hamels and the Phillies. Philadelphia scored 8 yesterday matching their season high, but Cahill has been pitching well this year despite a little slip against a hot Atlanta team his last time out. Hamels can be a shut-down pitcher so I’m not super-confident of this one. Again it’s Confidence Meter: 3

7:05-Baltimore Orioles-The O’s are playing good baseball right now and have won 3 of 4 against Toronto this season. Jason Hammel has been great in his first 3 starts free from the Coors-effect of pitching for the Rockies. He is 3-0 in 6 career starts against Toronto and dominates some of their better hitters. He’ll face off with Kyle Drabek who won his first 2 starts before struggling with command-but not losing-against KC his last time out. Drabek did shut down the Orioles the first time he faced them this year, but I think they’ll get to him tonight as his command problems could resurface. The status of Nolan Reimold and Jim Johnson are unknown at this point for tonight and their absence could hurt Baltimore. I can’t go higher than Confidence Meter: 5

Apr 22, 2012; Washington, DC, USA; Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas (30) makes a glove save in the overtime period against the Washington Capitals in the first round of the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs at Verizon Center. Boston won 4-3. Mandatory Credit: James Lang-US PRESSWIRE

7:35-Boston Bruins-I’m a Boston fan. This is a hope more than a pick, but this series has been so close that it’s tough to call. Every game in the first 6 have been decided by a goal. The advantages the Bruins have are 1)home ice, 2) experience, 3)Patrice Bergeron is supposed to return, 4)Tim Thomas. Whether it’ll be enough remains to be seen, but I’ll go with my Bruins to get me green headed into the prop tomorrow. Confidence Meter: 6

Current Streak: W2

Overall Record for the month: 39-39

Picks with Confidence +5: 21-15
