Streak for the Cash Picks-May 3

On this 3rd day of May, there are 13 picks on the ESPN Streak for the Cash schedule. Most of the emphasis is on basketball as TNT features the playoff action tonight, but there’s baseball and golf to warm us up this afternoon with some Hockey and more baseball mixed in tonight. Lots of NBA Props tonight…

Yesterday I closed with a win (2 on my personal since I grabbed the Orioles with a hit in the 8th prop), but lost earlier in the day with the suddenly offense-less Brewers, so as a result,  I start today on a W2 with plenty to build on and plenty of ways to do it.

Here’s the picks I like in today’s choices. I’m on a time crunch so the analysis is a little bit shorter than usual. I’ll do my best to beef it back up tomorrow.

3:45-Miami Marlins: The Marlins have pulled out 2 improbable wins in the Bay Area already this series and now send Anibal Sanchez to the hill, who has most likely been their best pitcher of the young season. While I like Ryan Vogelsong (see here), I don’t trust the Giants offense to score.  I’ll go with the Marlins and Anibal for more green as the Marlins close out the sweep with another close, late game. confidence meter: 4

7:15-Heat Winning Margin: The Heat have been rolling so far this series with ‘Melo being really the only Knick able to score. He averages 5 FT-made per game so even in the playoffs I expect him to be under 10. With Iman Shumpert and Amare Stoudemire sidelined, I doubt they’ll be within 10 so the Heat are the pick. Confidence Meter: 7

9:46-Dirk Nowitzki-Dal: Dirk has got to carry this team and I think he’ll step up big in the first half. Westbrook should be sharing with Durant, but either guy could go off. I’m just glad for another game in this series since it’s been highly entertaining basketball to watch. Chances are Dirk takes this, but it could go either way. Confidence Meter: 3

11:00-Mavericks more 3PM in 2nd half: Dallas averages more 3’s per game and that trend has continued so far this series. This pick is subject to change based on first half (follow @FantasyCPR for updates), but I’ll go Dallas for now. Confidence Meter: 4

Current Streak: W2

Overall Record for the month: 4-4

Picks with Confidence +5: 1-2
