Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Weekly Pickups 6/21

This week was kind of a dull week in the fantasy baseball world.  No huge outbreaks of no-name starts or big time call-ups.  The emergence of pitcher domination is continuing and being led by former Weekly Pick-up R.A. Dickey.  But here are some guys who have gotten hot lately and could be a possible addition to your squad.

June 20, 2012; Oakland, CA, USA; Oakland Athletics first baseman Brandon Moss (37) rounds the bases after hitting a solo home run against the Los Angeles Dodgers during the eighth inning at O.co Coliseum. The Oakland Athletics defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1. Mandatory Credit: Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE

Brandon Moss, OAK 1B

This guy is full of power and showed it off last week.  His onslaught in the Colorado series has made him a mainstay in the lineup for the A’s.  He has got the potential to hit 30 home runs this season and definitely can help you out.

Colby Rasmus, TOR OF

Another guy full of potential that never figured it out.  Well if you look at his numbers from last week, he just might be on to something.  I would grab Rasmus before he really starts on a tear.

June 17, 2012; Anaheim, CA, USA; Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Garrett Richards (43) pitches in the ninth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Angel Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-US PRESSWIRE

Garrett Richards, LAA SP

It looked like since Weaver is back, Richards was out.  But now that Jerome Williams is on the DL, his stay will be longer.  Richards has looked quite fantastic in his 4 starts and definitely should be owned.

Jose Quintana, CWS SP

With news that John Danks has seriously injured his shoulder, Quintana is now a lock for the rotation  He has been extremely productive his last two outings and I see that continued success in the AL Central.

Brayan Villareal, DET RP

The Tigers’ bullpen has been shaky at best, but Villareal has been very effective lately.  With Valverde out possibly a week, Brayan could be a sleeper in save opportunities.  But wither way, he has an very high strikeout rate if Jim Leyland sticks with him.

Hello, Waiver Wire!

Once again, this week has been kind of sketchy for both of these sections.  Here’s just a couple guys who I think can be cut loose.

Justin Smoak – SEA 1B, Daniel Murphy – NYM IF, Daniel Nava – BOS OF, Franciso Liriano – MIN SP, Jerome Williams – LAA SP
