As Sports continues it’s driest days of the summer, waiting for the MLB to swing back into action tomorrow, Streak for the Cash has some picks to keep you going. There’s nine on the board as of now featuring some PGA action from the John Deere Classic and some WNBA tonight.

Yesterday, I got three out of four losing only with the Union in the US Open Cup Semifinals. Looking forward to more picks coming soon, but that doesn’t mean we can’t hunt and find the green in today’s picks.

Picks for July 12

8:40- Jonathan Byrd – Byrd tied or bested every one of KJ’s rounds last week at the Greenbrier Classic. He’s also won at this event before and he’s getting the tie. In a nine hole prop, the player getting the tie has a big-time advantage. Unless there’s a clear talent edge, it’s best to go with the tie, and I think Byrd’s the best bet here anyway. Confidence Meter: 7 (out of 10)

July 5, 2012; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike (30) enters the court for the game against the Minnesota Lynx at the Staples Center. Sparks won 96-90. Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE

1:00- Any Other Result – The Question here is will the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx beat the Tulsa Shock by 20+ or any other. Here’s the two sides to this one. Minnesota beat Tulsa in Tulsa by 19 on Tuesday. Minnesota is 14-4 but they’ve only won three times by 20 or more all year. Once was against Tulsa. Really a coin flip, but I’ll go with the Shock to keep it closer than 20. Confidence Meter: 2 1/2

7:05- LA Sparks – In the evening WNBA matchup the Sparks travel to Indiana to take on the Fever. The Sparks (14-6) have won their last four games by an average of over 16 points while the Fever have won their last two in close contests against the Chicago Sky and New York Liberty who are a combined 14-19 on the season. Based on better record and recent form, I’m going Sparks. Confidence Meter: 5
