It’s a good thing that Sunday is another full day of matchups over in ESPN’s mini-game Streak for the Cash brought to you by Progressive. There’s plenty of options among the 14 posted matchups ranging from the well-known Sunday Night Baseball showcase to the not-so-well-known Swedish Allsvenskan soccer matchup.

Saturday on Streak didn’t go my way, but I’m looking to bounce back with these picks today:

Picks for Sunday

6:25- Any Other Country: There’s some good analysis on the chat board from uconnryan and mwallack3. I’m not a huge cycling fan, but I’m starting the day in the red so I’ll go with the pick they both agree on and go any other country. It’s a prop which means it could go either way though. Confidence Meter: 1 1/2 (out of 10)

12:30- Elfsborg win: Elfsborg is atop the table with a fairly dominant 10-1-3 record while Kalmar is 4-4-6 and currently 13th out of the 16 teams in the top Swedish pro league. Kalmar has lost games at home throughout the early campaign but they have kept them fairly close. Elfsborg has struggled recently to win at the Guldfågeln Arena where Kalmar plays their home games, but I think they are the superior squad and will come away with the victory on Sunday. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2

Jul 13, 2012; Toronto, ON, Canada; Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Yunel Escobar (5) turns a double play in the 8th inning as Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis (22) slides at the Rogers Centre. The Indians beat the Blue Jays 1-0. Mandatory Credit: Tom Szczerbowski-US PRESSWIRE

1:07- Toronto Blue Jays: If exotic soccer leagues aren’t your thing, go international closer to home and take the Blue Jays in their rubber game against the Indians. The Jays bats came alive yesterday against Ubaldo Jimenez and I like their chances to beat up on Derek Lowe today. I also am high on Carlos Villanueva as a spot starter and think he will have a solid start for Toronto. Confidence Meter: 6

1:35- Any Other Golfer: Troy Matteson has a three stroke lead over the field which is led by three-time defending champion at the John Deere Classic, Steve Stricker. As we’ve seen already this season, these leads evaporate quickly on Sunday afternoon and with one-against-the-field as the prop, I’m taking the field. Be aware that this will lock you up until Sunday Night Baseball most likely. Confidence Meter: 5

4:10 – Seattle Sounders win or Draw:  The Sounders visit the Red Bulls in a matchup featuring two fo the better MLS teams. New York has won just one of their last six matches and Seattle has lost just two of nine on the road. Seattle is healthy and in good form while New York has injuries and are slumping. Go with the Sounders for the Green. Confidence Meter: 6

8:10- St. Louis Cardinals: The Reds look to close out the sweep of the visiting Redbirds on Sunday Night Baseball. If you have to go props, I’d go no, more, and no. I’d rather go with the straight-up winner though which looks to me to favor the Cards after Red ace Johnny Cueto was scratched after getting a blister durin a side-session. The Reds will turn to Homer Bailey who has been good on the road and abysmal at home lately.  He’s  0-3 and has a ghastly 8.05 ERA in his last four starts at Great American Ball Park. The Cards counter with Jake Westbrook who is 7-7 on the year with a 3.25 ERA. The Cards pounded Homer the first time they faced him in Cincinnati and their lineup has quite a bit of success against the righty. The Reds are hot, but I think they’ll drop this one while “everyone is watching” on Sunday Night Baseball. Confidence Meter: 5
