Friday’s a very internationally flavored Streak for the Cash day. The first half of the day all the picks take place overseas from the Tour de France, Open Championship, and an Olympic Soccer Friendly. The second half of the day belongs to baseball with picks from around the 15 MLB games on Friday night.
Yesterday, my picks went 3-1 thanks to Tiger, the Tigers, and the Red Sox. I won with my most confident picks and only lost with the Yankees (which as a Red Sox fan, I’m good with). I rested my personal streak at 5 overnight and I’ll try to grow it with these picks.
Picks for Friday, July 20
5:20 – Any Other Cyclist: The experts on the chat board mwallack and uconnryan agree that this is a pretty easy pick. Any Other Cyclist is usually safe against just three unless one of those three is almost a lock. I don’t now tons about cycling, but I do feel good enough about this one to put my five-gamer on it. Confidence Meter: 6
12:24 – Any Other Score: This prop is for the par-3 ninth hole and the performance of Jason Dufner, Martin Laird, and Kevin Na. It’s a little gimmicky but it’s nine strokes or not. Obviously par is the most common score but chances are one of these guys gets it close or misses everything. I’ll go with not the nine, but it’s a prop which lends itself to a trap if you’re not careful. Confidence Meter: 5
7:10 – Cincinnati Reds: As I wrote yesterday, I like Bailey to continue his string of solid starts against the Brewers. The Reds have won eight of ten and rallied yesterday from an 8-0 hole. They’ve shown quite a bit of resiliency this season and have had to deal with losing superstar Joey Votto. I still think they’ll have enough tomorrow to beat Milwaukee and Marco Estrada (0-3, 4.13). Estrada piles up K’s but tends to give up runs as well. Confidence Meter: 5
10:05 – LA Angels: It’s always hard to pick against the Rangers, but it’s impossible not to pick Jered Weaver. He’s 6-0 over his last eight starts wth a 1.63 ERA. The Angels lineup is clicking, they’re coming home, and Weaver will be out to avenge his only loss of the season. This should be a great series, and a fun game to pick. Confidence Level: 7
Overall Picks: 52-34
Picks with Confidence over 5: 20-13
Current Personal Streak: W5
