It’s another solid Saturday of Streakin’ ahead as there are picks from the Tour de France, MLS, and Open Championship to go along with a main course of baseball picks to keep us going through the day.
Yesterday, my picks did awesome again going 4-0 giving me three perfect days in a row. The matchups today are tough calls though, so I don’t expect perfection to last. I’ll be putting my personal eight-gamer on the Pirates tonight.
Picks for July 21
4:35 AM- Wiggins and Froome finish 1 and 2: This is the final time trial of the tour this year so the early morning green will need to come from other sports once again. Uconnryan is pretty sure of this one, and he’s been amazingly accurate throughout the tour. Confidence Meter: 4

1:10- LA Dodgers: Chris Capuano returns to Citi Field tomorrow afternoon as the Dodgers look to take the first two games of their three-game set with the Mets. Capuano is 9-5 of the year with a 2.75 ERA and last time out threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball against the PAdres. The Mets will counter with Miguel Batista who has been pitching out of the bullpen for almost the entire season. He’s made just four starts this year and is 1-2 with a 4.33 ERA in his 29 appearances. LA won last night and scored seven runs in the process. Since Matt Kemp’s walkoff, they’ve looked good and will try to get another win tomorrow over Batista. Confidence Meter: 4
4:05- LA Angels: The Angels host the Rangers in their second game tomorrow as well. It’s Ervin Santana vs Yu Darvish. Both pitchers have been inconsistent in recent starts so it’s a tough call. Santana was better his last time out than Darvish and the Angels lineup has been hitting better than the Rangers who have hit a bit of a dry spell. It’s always hard to pick against the Rangers, but I will. This should be another great summer afternoon with this agme to watch. Confidence Meter: 3

7:05- Pittsburgh Pirates: The Pirates are really a pretty good team right now. They send their best pitcher A.J. Burnett who is 10-3 to the mound against the mercurial Carlos Zambrano. There’s always a chance big Z steps up, but he’s been struggling lately as has the Marlins lineup without Giancarlo Stanton. Pittsburgh is at home looking for their fourth win in a row, and I think they’ll get it. Confidence Meter: 7
11:55- Renan “Barao” Pegado: Pegado enters UFC 149 on a winning streak dating back to 2005. He’ll face off with Urijah Faber. Faber has been at the top level longer, but I think Pegado will be able to pull the slight upset here if he can stay on his feet in what should be a very entertaining fight. Confidence Meter: 3
