Streak for the Cash Picks, July 24

by Daily Rounds

Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE

There’s 13 picks on the board for Tuesday in ESPN’s Streak for the Cash with the usual summer blend of early European soccer and evening Major League Baseball. The one unusual matchup is the USA men’s basketball scrimmage against Spain which should be a good test for the Americans as they complete their warmup for the olympics.

Yesterday I was 3 for 4 missing only on the Dodgers-Cardinals game. I’m tight on time today, but here’s the picks I like the most and a one sentence explanation on why. Full write-ups to resume as soon as possible.

Picks for July 24

9:00- Liberec win: Liberec come from a better overall league (Czech Republic) and dominated and won 1-0 the first leg. Confidence Meter: 3 (out of 10)

Bob Donnan-US PRESSWIRE

4:40- Spain to win or lose by less than 10: Spain could very easily win this game, but I think the US pulls it out by 3-5 points against the #2 ranked country by FIBA. Confidence Meter: 6

7:05- Detroit Tigers: Jiminez was crushed his last time out while Fister has been good and has a hot lineup behind him. Confidence Meter: 7

10:36- Portland Timbers: It’s a friendly and it’s always fun to pick the Timbers at home even when playing an EPL team basically in its “spring training.” Confidence Meter: 3
