Friday is another great day of Streak for the Cash with 13 matchups currently on the board. It looks a lot like yesterday’s schedule with early PGA Tour golf from the Barclays followed by some tennis and soccer in the afternoon and a night full of Major League Baseball. There’s some MLS and preseason NFL action tonight as well as August enters its final week of picking competition.

Yesterday my picks started strong with four wins overall and getting my personal streak up to five. Unfortunately my evening picks didn’t fare so well so I start today on a one game losing streak after a 5-2 day.

Picks for 8/24

7:54- Rickie Fowler: While I don’t like to give the tie in these nine-hole props, Fowler looked good on day one including a -3 on the back nine. Snedeker shot a +2 over the same stretch and is -1 for the tournament. Fowler is one of my personal favorites, so when he’s going well I tend to take him. He won’t have the orange out ’til Sunday, but I still like the former Cowboy to find the green tomorrow. Confidence Meter: 3 (out of 10)

11:26- Any Other Score: This prop is Bo Van Pelt’s score on the ultra-long par 5 13th. He birdied the first day, but it’s not an easy hole and one errant shot takes birdie out of the picture. Par is always the safe pick, but it’s a prop pick so they can always go either way. Confidence Meter: 4

1:30- 13 or 14 strokes: This pick is for three golfers in a group to play the par 5 13th in 13 or 14 strokes over any other total. One of the trio of Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia and Louis Oosthuizen will get a birdie here, but I don’t think all three will. They all played this hole 15 yesterday with three pars. I doubt that in six tries none of them would be able to get -1. Again it’s a prop pick so it can always go either way. Confidence Meter: 4

August 22, 2012; Winston-Salem, NC; Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) celebrates in his match against Sergiy Stakhovsky (UKR) on day four of the 2012 Winston-Salem Open at Wake Forest University. Tsonga won 7-6 6-4. Mandatory Credit: Susan Mullane-US PRESSWIRE

3:05- Jo-Wilifried Tsonga: This ATP Winston-Salem Open semi-final features Tsonga and John Isner. Isner leads the head-to-head series 3-1, but Tsonga is slightly higher rated (#6 overall verses #10). Tsonga has been dominating in this tournament losing only three games in his quarterfinal matchup and dispatching Marcel Granollers in only 53 minutes. In Isner’s quarterfinal he needed a tie-breaker in the first set but took the match in consecutive 7-6, 6-3 over David Goffin. This should be a great matchup between the top seed (Tsonga) and the defending champ (Isner). Both have dynamite serves and whoever can get locked in and dominate their serve will most likely take the match. I’ll take Tsonga, but Isner is tough to pick against. Confidence Meter: 3

7:05- Milwaukee Brewers: The Pirates are fading quickly once again this year and hope a return home to PNC Park can get them turned back around and headed in the right direction. They’ll face a big challenge in their opener as they face rookie Mike Fiers who is 6-6 despite a solid 2.90 ERA. Fiers was cruising along until his last two starts which were rough as he allowed 12 runs in seven innings. In his eight starts before that he allowed just six runs. The Pirates will counter with their own struggling starter Wandy Rodriguez who has lost his last three starts and has a 5.06 ERA since coming over from Houston in trade deadline move. Confidence Meter: 5

7:35- Philadelphia Union: The Union host Real Salt Lake tonight and are getting the draw at home. RSL has only won 4 out of 12 games on the road and are playing on back-to-back nights thanks to a Champions League match yesterday. The Union on the other hand come in on a high after earning a draw against DC United over the weekend. Philadelphia at home with the draw when RSL may choose to rest some players makes this a pretty attractive pick. Confidence Meter: 6

10:15- San Francisco Giants: Ryan Vogelsong and Ben Sheets were dominant until some recent struggles for both of them. Vogelsong is at home where he had been virtually unhittable until getting hammered by the Nats his last time out at AT&T Park. He should have Buster Posey back in the lineup and behind the plate as the Giants look to take their fifth win in a row. The Braves meanwhile are scuffling a bit losing five of their last six. Confidence Meter: 7
