Editor’s Note: With everyone focused on the Jets as their preseason wraps up and they head into a drama-filled season, at FantasyCPR we’re pleased to welcome a Jets-focused writer. Matt Wiener will be on the Jets throughout the season so stay tuned for continuing insight. This was his initial post written before the Jets played their fourth preseason game.
There are two New York football teams, one that won a Super Bowl last year and the other who got the highest paid backup quterback. But, because the Jets got one of the most talked about athletes in sports today they were on the hot seat this offseason.
The Jets have played 3 preseason games all three having no offensive touchdowns. Many New Yorkers and football fans around the country have put all the blame on the two QB’s Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.
Well its not just them. Lets start with the Offensive Line. Jason Smith, a former Rams RT, did a horrible job giving up 10 sacks and covering Tebow’s blind side. Let’s go to the WR’s, in their last preseason game both Stephen Hill and Santonio Holmes dropped very easy passes. Stephen Hill’s led into a INT.
When the Jets were in the Redzone stupid penalties forced Nick Folk to come in and kick FG.
Just seven days until the Jets Open their new season. I am Matt Wiener and I will lead you through these 17+ weeks of New York Jets News,Rumors,Concerns, and Injuries.
