The Ravens defense dominated the Bengals on Monday Night Football. Where did they end up in the rankings headed for Philadelphia? Mitch Stringer-US PRESSWIRE
Team defense can be scored differently in different leagues so make sure that you understand what’s the most important defensive stat in your league. It could be sacks and turnovers or touchdown heavy. Many leagues also add bonuses for giving up just a few points (or securing a shutout) or limiting yards allowed.
Defense may not win you championships in fantasy football, but it can definitely be a boost to a solid week. As all good fantasy owners know, every point is precious. Just ask the guy who lost by one point when Rod Streater caught the TD at the end of the Chargers-Raiders game Monday.
Here’s the FantasyCPR staff’s composite top ten for week 2. Although there’s lots of disparity between the rankings, the Houston Texans are our top defense for the second week in a row.
My picks (ZT) are averaged with Matthew Tuckness (MT), Matthew Bonini (MB), Steve Copps (SC), and Jeffrey Littrell (JL). The rankings are averaged together to come up with a solid composite ranking which should give you an idea of what defense will step up this week. NR stands for not rated and counts as a fifteenth ranking in the composite.
