Streak for the Cash Picks and advice for September 13

There’s 11 picks to choose from on this Thursday edition of Streak for the Cash. Morning soccer gets us started and then it’s all baseball until some Thursday Night Football of both the College and Pro variety.

Yesterday, my picks went 2-2 but I was off the grid and didn’t get to pick any for my personal entry leaving me at a winning streak of 6. I am planning on making picks today, and these are my favorites:

August 28, 2012; Anaheim, CA, USA; Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver (36) pitches in the fourth inning against the Boston Red Sox at Angel Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-US PRESSWIRE

Streak Picks, 9/13

3:35- LA Angels: Two pitchers on a roll face off in this one. Jered Weaver is more proven and has dominated the A’s the past two seasons (5-1, 1.02 ERA). Brett Anderson has been good since returning from Tommy John surgery, but I don’t think he can keep it going after dominating his first four starts (4-0, 0.69 ERA). He’s struggled with LAA in hthe past with a 1-2 record in six career starts. I think the Angels will avoid the sweep and get the win, but the A’s have been amazing on the road lately, so it’s no lock. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

7:35- Rutgers win or lose by single digits: South Florida and Rutgers both come in unbeaten but the Bulls are heavy favorites after beating a good Nevada team last week on the road while Rutgers hosted Howard. The game is at USF but last year Rutgers won in OT, the year before the Bulls won by one point. This is a conference game between two fairly evenly matched teams. Getting nine points, Rutgers is a good pick. Confidence Meter: 5

8:10- Detroit Tigers: Justin Verlander and Chris Sale face off again as the Tigers look to pull even with Chicago in the AL Central. This is a rematch of the 9/2 matchup when Verlander and Detroit won 4-2. This game is at US Cellular field in Chicago where Sale has been good lately, but go with the more proven starting pitching option and the hotter lineup as Detroit looks to take three of four from the ChiSox. Confidence Meter: 4

Sep 9, 2012; Green Bay, WI, USA; Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (12) looks to throw a pass during the third quarter against the San Francisco 49ers at Lambeau Field. The 49ers defeated the Packers 30-22. Mandatory Credit: Jeff Hanisch-US PRESSWIRE

8:30- Green Bay Packers Winning Margin: I think Green Bay wins by 10-14 and Chicago scores about five times. Confidence Meter: 7

10:10- LA Dodgers: Both these Wild Card contending teams are scuffling along with Atlanta allowing Milwaukee and Philadelphia to re-enter the race. The Dodgers bats have gone quiet but hope that a return home gets things flowing offensively again. Facing Lance Lynn won’t hurt either. Lynn was dominant before the All-Star break but went 0-1 with a 6.56 ERA in five starts before being sent to the bullpen. Jake Westbrook’s injury means Lynn will get the start against Josh Beckett who pitched well in his only home start since being acquired by LA. Confidence Meter: 6
