With no golf, big-time tennis, college basketball, or big college football games, Friday is a little thin on sports action. In fact, ESPN only has 11 picks up for Streak for the Cash and many of them are coin-flip picks which mean they could easily go either way. There’s some international soccer early, plenty of Major League Baseball, and some College Football and MLS sprinkled in.
Last night I couldn’t decide between Rutgers and Green Bay but ultimately went with the Scarlet Knights who ran my streak to a healthy w8 to close the day. I finished yesterday 3-1 overall with the LA Dodgers being my only wrong pick. Here’s the picks I like the most today. However, it’s relative since none of the picks I’m super-confident on. I’m not sure if I’ll hold by W8 for college football tomorrow or pick the Giants. I’ll let you know on twitter @FantasyCPR
Here’s my picks of the day:
Best Streak for the Cash Picks 9/14
2:45- Toulose win draw or lose by one: Toulose hasn’t lost in their first four games in the French Ligue 1. Paris Saint-Germain spent big but is still just coming together and haven’t one any of their games yet by two goals. PSG has the talent to win by 2, but I don’t think they will since they’re still just coming together as a team. If I was going to make an early pick today, this would be the one. Confidence Meter: 5 (out of 10).
9:05- UNLV wins or single digit loss: UNLV is not a great team but they’ve been within 10 in both their losses and were ahead 14-0 before blowing the lead and the game in the closing minutes to Northern Arizona of the FCS. Washington St. is 1-1. After getting crushed by BYU to open the season, Mike Leach’s boys beat Eastern Washington at home 24-20. They just don’t look like a team ready to go on the road and win by double-digits yet. I think UNLV covers in this one at home. Confidence Meter: 3
9:40- San Francisco Giants: This one’s simple. It comes down to Matt Cain who is 3-0 in his last six starts reaching the eighth and allowing two runs or less in five of them. He’ll be opposed by rookie Tyler Skaggs who has huge potential but has struggled his last few starts. If my W8 goes on the line, it’ll be with San Francisco as they open up their three-game road set in the desert. Confidence Meter: 6
Total Picks: 43-33-0
Personal Entry: 24-6-0
Current Streak: W8
