Streak for the Cash Daily Selections-Sunday, September 23

Cliff Lee and the Phillies are a great pick this afternoon. There’s plenty of NFL action too, but if you want baseball go with Lee. Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

It’s a jam-packed Sunday of sports action giving Streak for the Cash players plenty to choose from through out the day. There’s picks from every NFL game plus Major League Baseball, the PGA’s Tour Championship, the WNBA, and even some early EPL action. My picks have been stuck in neutral for the past few days, so hopefully I can get some momentum before the end of the month starting with these picks for today:

Streak for the Cash Picks, 9/23

8:30-Manchester United win: Machester is number four in the table after four matches while Liverpool is 17th and yet to win a match. There’s some pretty emotional stuff going on before the game, and how it will affect the Reds is unknown. I think United is the right pick here, but I hate giving the draw. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

1:00- Indianapolis Colts: For all my NFL picks, click here. The Colts at home against Jacksonville are a solid pick in the early window. Confidence Meter: 5

Deploy Megatron against the Titans this week as the Lions should roll.  Tim Fuller-US PRESSWIRE

1:00- Detroit Lions: If you’d rather go with not-a-rookie quarterback go with Matthew Stafford and the Lions as they go to Tennessee against the Titans whose defense has struggled the first two weeks. Confidence Meter: 7

1:35-Philadelphia Phillies: If you’re staying away from football with your Streak picks, I’d go with Cliff Lee and the Phillies to take the rubber game of this three game set. Lee has been great since mid-August with a 4-0 record and a 1.63 ERA. The only numbers that are better than recent splits are his numbers against the Braves. He’s allowed just two runs in his last three starts against Atlanta with a 0.90 ERA and a 3-0 record. Tim Hudson, his opposition, has been up-and-down lately and the Phillies historically hit him rather well. Confidence Meter: 6

1:50-American: At the top the leaderboard, it’s eight Americans and just two internationals. Rory or Justin Rose could win, but take the odds and take the USA. Confidence Meter: 4

4:25-Pittsburgh Steelers: For full breakdown, click here. The quick version is remember last week’s results when the Raiders lost in Miami and Pittsburgh beat the week-one sensation the Jets. Confidence Meter: 8

8:05-Cincinnati Reds: My only hesitation with this pick is that the Reds don’t have as much to play for as the Dodgers. Cincinnati has clinched its division while LA currently sits outside of the Wild Card positions with 10 games left to play. I’ll still go with the Reds though since they are the home team, Homer Bailey has been great this month (2-0, 1.55 ERA), and Aaron Harang has struggled (0-2 4.62 ERA in last four starts). When you add in the face that the Dodgers have dropped eight of their last 12 while being dreadful offensively. The Reds, on the other hand, have won five of six and eight of 11. Confidence Meter: 7

8:31-Ray Rice Rushing Yards: In a cool prop, it’s Rice’s rushing against Gronk’s receiving yards. I think the Ravens will force Brady to look elsewhere while Rice is the safer pick since he will get the touches to get the yards. It’s a prop and, as usual, could go either way. Confidence Meter: 4

10:30-4 TDs or more: We should have a better idea on this at half, but these two offenses should be able to combine for our TDs. Confidence Meter: 2
