Streak for the Cash Selections and Help, September 24

Jordan Zimmermann (27) and the Nats make a good pick even against the red-hot Brewers. Brad Mills-US PRESSWIRE

After a wild and wacky NFL Sunday featuring replacement refs, headshots, upsets, and offense, Streak for the Cash keeps things rolling today with picks from the Russian Premier League, Major Leage Baseball, Spanish Primera Division, Greek Super League, and of course Monday Night Football. It’s a relatively light schedule, but there’s still plenty of green to be had if you make the right picks. Here’s the picks I like the most:

Picks for 9/24

11:00-Anzhi Makhachkala win:  Anzhi is 5-2-1 to start the season with some impressive results while Alania Vladikavkaz is 2-2-4 and near the bottom of the table. They could pull out the draw here so stay away if you’ve got a substantial streak, but I’d go Anzhi if you need some early action. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

1:00- Washington Nationals: The Nats host the Brewers as they look to get a split of their four-game set. It should be a low-scoring game as both pitchers have been pitching well as of late. Marco Estrada has gone 4-1 with a 1.23 ERA in his last six outings while Jordan Zimmerman is 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA for Washington in his last three starts. The Nats are really good at home (47-30) and Zimmerman hasn’t taken a loss in Washington in his last 10 home starts. The Brewers have been red-hot, but I think the Nats can earn a split at home. Confidence Meter: 6

3:30- Sevilla win: Sevilla go on the road in a matchups of unbeaten teams as they travel to Deportivo La Coruna. Deportivo has drawn their last three games against teams at the bottom of the table, while Sevilla is coming off a huge win at home over Real Madrid. Sevilla is 2-2-o and Deportivo is 1-3-0. This is the first season back in the top flight for Deportivo and I think they’ll take their first loss at the hands of Sevilla FC in this one. Confidence Meter: 6

8:30- Seattle Seahawks: I think the week of upsets continues and that the Pack drop to 1-2 in Seattle where the Seahawks have a huge home-field advantage. I think this will give Packers fans flashbacks to week one where a good defense slows their offense just enough while Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson grind drives out and use up the clock to ultimately beat Green Bay. Confidence Meter: 5

8:31- 139 yards or fewer: Seattle’s pass defense has allowed an average of 228.5 passing yards a game. Rodgers has thrown for 303 and 219. I think it’ll be really close (as most props are) but that he’ll be slightly under this number since Seattle will do their best to keep him off the field with their rushing attack and should be able to run against the Packers run defense. This could easily go either way, but I’ll take the under. Confidence Meter: 3

10:20- 21 points or fewer: Both these defenses are solid. The overall correction this week has been to the under and I don’t see this one turning into a shootout. At halftime, this pick may change, and I’ll let you know on twitter @FantasyCPR if it does. So far this week, some crazy stuff has happened so you never know. Confidence Meter: 4
