Streak for the Cash Daily Blog Picks, September 26

Can the Kansas City Royals and starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie (33) play spoiler in tonight’s Streak for the Cash matchup? Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE

This Wednesday, September 26 there’s 13 picks on the Streak board with international soccer and Major League Baseball again taking center stage as the month winds down. I’m crunched for time today, so I’ll make this quick, but these are the picks I like the most coming into this Wednesday morning.

Picks of the day for 9/26

8:30- Tomsk win, draw, or lose by 1: Tomsk is in the FNL in Russia which is one step below the Russian Premier League where CSKA Moscow plays. That’s why you can get Tomsk plus a goal at home in this Russian Cup match. Tomsk has been tearing up the FNL where they’re unbeaten in their last five games and sit atop the table. CSKA also is on a roll going 7-0-2 to start the season in the Premier League and take the top of the table. I still feel comfortable though with the extra goal taking Tomsk at home. I wouldn’t put anything long on it, but I feel like it’s a Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

1:10- New York Yankees win by 2+: It’s tough to give a run in baseball especially on the road, but I think it’s the right call with the Yankees in need of a win and CC Sabathia on the mound. Confidence Meter: 6

2:45-Newcastle United win, Draw, or lose by 1: Newcastle gets a goal as they visit Man United in the 3rd Round of the English League Cup. Newcastle has been playing well in the Premier league having only dropped one game in their first five as they fell 2-0 at Chelsea. Man U has bounced back nicely after losing to Everton in their opener to win four in a row. Three of those four of those victories have been by just one goal. Another factor to consider is that last season Newcastle tied the Red Devils in Machester 1-1 and then beat them 3-0 at home. I think they’ll at least keep this close. Confidence Meter: 5

7:05- No both Tigers and White Sox don’t win: The Tigers host the Royals and the White Sox host the Indians. Both games are intra-division games and both starting pitching matchups would actually seem to favor KC and Cleveland. I’ll go against the division leaders in basically two coin-flip picks and hope that either the Tribe or the Royals pull the upset. Last night, the prop was Yankees and O’s to both win and they actually both ended up losing. Confidence Meter: 7

10:05-LA Angels: The Angels have fooled me many times this year, and may be doing it again. The Mariners though looked horrible last night striking out 20 times against the Angels pitchers. The M’s have dropped 11 of 16 and even King Felix had been hittable until his last time out when he regained his form and finished with a no-decision. The Angels will send C.J. Wilson to the mound and hope he bounces back from a short 2.2 inning outing his last time out against Texas. I’ll take LA in this one behind a big night from Torii Hunter. Confidence Meter: 5
