Streak for the Cash Daily Blog Picks, September 28

After all the pleasantries of the opening Ceremony, Graeme McDowell on left and Phil Mickelson on right lead their teams into Foursomes this morning at the Ryder Cup. Brian Spurlock-US PRESSWIRE

Three days left in the month which means the picks are either some of your most important as you try to reach your goals, or some of the least important since you’ve already fallen short. There’s still plenty of picks to be made though with 14 picks on the board as we start this morning. The Ryder Cup tees off this morning with a pair of four-ball props then there’s plenty of Major League Baseball, College Football, WNBA Playoffs, and international and MLS soccer to round out the day. Here’s the picks I like the most among today’s offerings.

Picks for Friday, 9/28

8:20- Team Europe or tie: I’m a little surprised there’s not more props since this is on ESPN and a pretty major event. In both these early picks the tie is huge so go Europe in the morning and unless it’s a runaway either way got USA or tie in the afternoon. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2 (out of 10)

1:05- Team USA or tie: Unless it’s a big lead either way headed into the afternoon, I’ll take the tie and the Americans in the afternoon Four-balls. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2

7:05- Cincinnati Reds: The Reds continue to duel it out with Washington for the best record in the NL and also are trying to secure home-field for their opening series of the playoffs. They’ll send Homer Bailey to the hill who has dominated the Pirates, in Pittsburgh, and throughout the month of September until his last start. He’ll be opposed by A.J. Burnett who, like the Pirates, has tailed off as the year comes to a close. the Pirates need to go 5-1 over their last six to avoid a losing record, but that doesn’t look likely especially with Cincinnati and Atlanta coming to PNC Park. Confidence Meter: 5

8:05- Los Angeles Angels: The Angels have won 24 of 34 to climb into the playoff race late, and now head to Texas to try and catch Oakland in the second wild card spot. Jered Weaver looks to get his 20th win and win his fourth start in a row as he faces Ryan Dempster. The Angels have already beaten Dempster twice since he was acquired by Texas and I don’t think the third time will be the charm either. Confidence Meter: 6

8:35- Chicago Fire win or draw: The top two teams in the Eastern Conference of MLS face off in Kansas City. If Chicago gets the win, they’ll move atop the table. The Fire have won their last four games outright and beat Kansas City both home and away earlier this season. KC has only five outright wins in their last 11 MLS matches. I think the Fire win this outright, so I’m even more confident getting the draw. Confidence Meter: 7

10:05- San Francisco Giants: Ryan Vogelsong appears to be over his reent rough patch and always dominates the Padres. The Giants have taken 10 of the 15 matchups this season and 14 of their last 21 played at Petco. The Giants knocked Andrew Werner around in his last start and will face him again as they continue their playoff push. Confidence Meter: 6
