This weekend is all we have left in Streak for the Cash for September. Whatever your goals are keep them is site as we roll through an extremely sports-filled weekend. As we get things started today there’s 28 picks on the board from all across the world of sports. Things get started this morning in the EPL and the Ryder Cup, then this afternoon and evening there’s the usual National College Football action blended with some late-season baseball. There’s plenty of picks, so decide which way to go and get in all the action that you can.
Here’s the picks I like the most today:
Picks for Saturday, 9/29
7:45- Arsenal win: Arsenal is off to a solid start in the Premier league going undefeated in its first five and picking up a nice draw on the road at Man City last week. They’ve scored six goals in each of their last two home games, one against Southampton and one against Coventry City in the Capital One Cup. Chelsea has had their own solid start also undefeated in their first five league games. The only sour note for the Blues lately was a road draw at Queens Park and losses in teh Community shield and the UEFA Super Cup. I like Arsenal’s form better coming into this one and it’ll be a big home game for the Gunners so I think they’ll get the W. Confidence Meter: 3 (out of 10)
12:05- Penn State: Click here for more analysis. I’ll go with the Nittany Lions on the road in this first window as they travel to Illinois. They’ve won their last two games and Illinois lost last week to Louisiana Tech. I think Penn State will hand them their second consecutive home loss. Confidence Meter: 5
3:33-Cincinnati TD’s and FG’s: I think the Bearcats have a great chance to win the game outright, (as I wrote in my picks piece yesterday) and even if they lose close Munchie Legaux and co. should be able to put up enough points to cover this prop. Confidence Meter: 6
4:00- Arizona State: The Sun Devels have looked great in the desert and the Golden Bears have struggled out of the gate with tough losses to Nevada, USC, and Ohio State. Click here for my full analysis, but I feel pretty confident of this pick. My only hesitation is Arizona State’s loss in its only road game and this one’s in Berkeley. Confidence Meter: 7
7:15- St. Louis Cardinals: Jordan Zimmerman could lead the Nats to their first NL East title with a win coupled with a Braves loss, but I don’t think the Nats celebration will happen tonight in St. Louis. Kyle Lohse and has pitched well all year and is 3-0 with a 0.41 ERA in three home starts against the Nats. The Cardinals meanwhile have been able to get to Zimmerman in his four career starts against them handing him a 0-2 record and a 10.71 ERA. St Louis has won nine of their last 11. Confidence Meter: 6
7:50- Texas Longhors: Texas goes on the road to Stillwater in what should be a very entertaining shootout. Texas’s offense looks really good and OSU has health issues at QB. OSU has the offense to keep up, but I ultimately think the athletic Texas defense will make a stop when it needs to to get UT the win. Confidence Meter: 4
10:35- Oregon wins by 30+: The Ducks are 4-0 and have blown out each of their opponents to start the season. This will be the first road-test for Oregon, but they’ll be facing a Washington State team that has a long way to go and are 2-2 despite not playing any major opponents yet. Beware the back-door cover, but give the points and go with the Ducks.
Yesterday’s results: 5-1
