Streak for the Cash Picks, October 1

It’s a new month and a new start as we kick off October with international futbal and Monday Night Football highlighting a simple nine-pick schedule for today. Good luck to you and your entry this month. Make sure to check out my favorite picks of the day throughout the month each morning.

Check out my results for September at the bottom of the page, and feel free to jump into our group to play against my entry as well as other readers. Here’s my picks of the day:

Picks and Analysis for 10/1

9:30-PFK Samara win: These two teams are virtually even in the Russian Premier League so it makes sense to give the visiting team the draw which makes this a difficult pick. It’s basically a coin-flip but Samara has been solid at home and Krasnodar gives up goals when they go on the road. Plus, the crowd always jumps on the side of the draw no matter what at the beginning of the month, so I’ll go against the flow with my first pick of October. Confidence Meter: 2 1/2 (out of 10) If this wasn’t the first pick, I’d just stay away.

3:00- Queens Park Rangers win: Queens Park has been tough at home. They play in a smaller stadium for the EPL but it’s known for being incredibly noisy and offering a huge home-field advantage. The Rangers held Chelsea to a 0-0 draw in their last home game in the Premier League. In this one, they host West Ham United who is 0-1-1 in league play on the road so far this season. West Ham sits higher in the table right now (10 to 20), but I think QPR can get their first Premier League win today since they’re playing at home. Confidence Meter: 4

7:05- No any other result: In another tough prop, I’ll take either the Rays or Red Sox to beat the Orioles or Yankees. The Red Sox have hit CC in the past and tend to bring their best against him, but as bad as they’re playing I’d only give them about a 15% chance of winning this one. The Orioles-Rays game is more the reason I’m leaning no on this prop though. The Rays are almost as hot as Baltimore and have Alex Cobb who has been on fire lately. The O’s wrapped up a postseason trip last night, and Wei-Yin Chen has been inconsistent in his last few starts. I’d give Tampa about a 60% chance of winning. Since in this prop, all you need is either the Red Sox or Rays you add those percentages together which puts the pick at  a Confidence Meter: 5

8:30- Dallas Cowboys- The Cowboys and Bears have both been inconsistent in the early going and enter the game at 2-1. Chicago’s pressure could get to Romo and make things difficult for the Cowboys like they faced in their loss in Seattle. After Cutler’s struggles in Green Bay though, I can’t take the Bears to go into Big D on a Monday Night and get a win. I’m pretty confident that Rob Ryan and the Cowboys will be able to shut down the Bears and that one of the Dallas playmakers on offense will come up with the offense they need to win a fairly low-scoring game something like 23-13. Confidence Meter: 7

Final September Stats
