Tony Gonzalez (88) rises to the top of our rankings this week after a nice game in Washington. This week he and the unbeaten Falcons host the Raiders. Geoff Burke-US PRESSWIRE
There’s a massive shift at the top of our tight end rankings, but don’t expect it to last too long. Coming into the year, everyone had Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots and Jimmy Graham of the New Orleans Saints as their top two, but you won’t find either of them in our top three spots.
It’s easy to explain Graham’s absence since New Orleans on a bye. To be fair, two of our rankers did have Gronk as #1, but in the composites he slipped to number three. Even as a Patriots fan, I downgraded him a little since he’s in a really tough matchup in Seattle and may be asked to block more than usual. Aaron Hernandez also may return this week, and Tony Gonzalez and Vernon Davis are both in really nice matchups. Since I own Gronk in two leagues, I hope he proves me wrong, but I expect a bit of a down week for him.
Gonzalez and Davis are the leading TE in most formats coming into the week and should continue their strong seasons. Check out the rest of our top ten below. I was privileged to be joined once again by Fantasy CPR staff Steve Copps (SC), Matthew Bonini (MB), and Jeffrey Littrell (JL) in putting together a solid top 10. NR stands for not rated and counts as a 15 for averaging purposes.
