With six teams on a bye, the team defenses get stretched a little bit thinner. In response, at FantasyCPR we’re going deeper than we have in the past to help you find the best defense to play in your league. For the first time we’ve expanded our coverage to rank the top 15 defensive units.
The volatility in team defenses is easy to see from the disparity in the rankings. We all have different #1 units and each one team receiving a vote as #1 also was ranked outside the top five in another set of rankings. The 49ers claim the top spot for their Thursday Night showdown since all of us had them in the top three despite getting lit up by the Giants last week.
Joining me in this week’s rankings were staff members Steve Copps (SC) and Jeffrey Littrell (JL). Our rankings have been combined to come up with a solid composite ranking which should give you a good idea who to pick up and start this week. NR stands for not rated and counts as 20 for averaging purposes.
